A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Other Add-Ons

Description: This ai_playr.dll changes the text "Player rescused by Submarine" to say "Player rescused". This is a simple Hex edit of the stock english ai_playr.dll. Replace you stock ai_playr.dll fround in your MODULES folder with this one and your done. Good for any install that make it unlikely that pilots would be rescused by a submarine.

I have tested this ai_playr.dll and had no problems but should you have a problem I have inclued the stock english ai_playr.dll named Org_ai_playr.dll so you can change back.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Other Add-Ons

Description: I edited the stock weapons.bgl to update the US bombs. The bombs use the measurements listed in the TM 9-1980 book from the US War Department Nov 1944. This will update the 250lbs, 500lbs, 1000lbs and 2000lbs bombs with bombs that are the right size. I wanted to put in some more details but SCASM wouldn't let me as it would error when trying to convert it back to a .bgl

These bombs work just fine with the stock aircraft so no DP eding required. Replace your stock weapons.bgl found at SCENEDB\weapons\scenery with this one and bombs away! I have tested this weapons.bgl and had no problems but should you have a problem I have inclued the stock weapons.bgl named Org_weapons.bgl so you can change back.

As I said the bombs could be better but SCASM.... Over all they are better than stock and work well.

I'm on the look out for the ai_playr.dll in other languages. I would like to try to do the same for the other other languages ai_playr.dll.

Same for other language mdlnames.txt and descrip.dat. I would like all 3 in other languages for my euro install I'm working on. Right now my euro set up replaces all 3 and I don't thing it would be fun for non-english users to find them self trying to lean english.

EDIT:
Found the Italian files posted by kelticheart. Trying to understand and remove the "by Submarine" part from "Player rescused by Submarine" in Italian. Google translate here I come! Also looking for the outcome.dat in other languages for my euro install.

Italian ai_playr.dll edit done. I think I did the translation right. I'm attaching it. Would one of our Italian users try it?

SCASM limit

Allen, for larger files to be SCASMed, I use a batch file with the following entries:

Loction of Scasm.Exe _ Loction&name of *.sca file _ Location&name of *.bgl to be produced _ Additional Information to handle larger files (All in one line)
Pause (in the next line - this is very helpful, because the little command window will stay until you press a button - so one can read the feedback and see if all was scasmed OK)

Just create a *.txt file with notepad and save it as *.bat - I use the name of the *.SCA file like this: Wep_Ger_Bf109Z-2_ETC501_Wing_x2_SCASM.bat

And this is how it looks inside:

E:\_Tools\SCASM\scasm E:\_SCENEDB\WEAPONs\WW2\GERMANY\scenery\Wep_Ger_Bf109Z-2_ETC501_Wing_x2.sca E:\_SCENEDB\WEAPONs\WW2\GERMANY\scenery\Wep_Ger_Bf109Z-2_ETC501_Wing_x2.bgl -LB 9990000

I wasn`t succesful as well. Since 15 years, the double entry "light clouds" is irritating me.

Now, when you showed me where to look, I tried to fix it.
Indeed I located the entry and shanged and saved it - but no luck. - CFS2 gives me an error with the tinkered file.

What am I doing wrong?

Target Clamp

Allen,
you fixed so much in the last year, that I never have dreamed of, anyone would do it.
You climbed very highy already on the CFS2 Olymp.

Maybe you are also the man, who can solve the problem with the yellow clamp, that is put around the target?
Please remove it completely or change the appearance to invisible or tone the colour at least down, if you have an idea?

My skills are not vary good. My hex edit is just basic letter replacing. With ai_playr.dll you can't add any new letters but you can use the same number of letter or less as I did with the Player rescused by Submarine.

In my install I turn them off by pressing Shift + ~ (tilde).
Tab turns them on, Shift + ~ turns them off. You can set it up in your
Controller Assignments under Unlock Target.

Weather is corrected and the submarine away (at least I think so, I changed it and get no error messages anymore.
But I haven`t flown a mission to check it. Many Thanks for the tip :wavey:!

Because the entries are all German, this is for a small group, I think. Anyway, for the interested the file is attached within the zip.

@bub: I can lock and unlock this way. But I want to have the other aircraft locked without the brackets.

I may be a good idea to upload a version that removes the double entry "light clouds" and another that has the double entry "light clouds" removed and the "by Submarine" removed.
