US: Our Taxes at work...

I'm guessing there was something in the area the agents wanted to go to or see and found a way to do it at the taxpayers expense.

The legal firm of JK Harris states in their TV advertising that "...the IRS will relentlessly pursue you for unpaid taxes!"

This is an example of this carried out to the extreme... :bump:

Four cents ... look at the late fees and interest though:

"I looked at the letter and I couldn't believe what I saw. The number was astonishing. Four cents," Zeff said. "Coupled with late fees and penalties - coming to a total of $202.35."

That sounds very reasonable.
But you know the government doesn't deal in reasonable, I'm afraid.
I have no doubt they were there to collect back taxes on .04 cents.
A good friend of mine just went through the same crap over a ridiculously low amount as well.
The amount they wanted, didn't cover the cost of recovering it either.
