USAF liveries for MilViz Cessna 310

Skyhawk18

Charter Member
I am currently working on two military liveries for the MilViz Cessna 310.
As far as I know, the «R» model was never used by the USAF. However, on request, I did a couple of liveries with textures adapted from the USAF Cessna 310 A/B.

As I have very limited photos (specially of the camo version), any feedback from those who may have seen the USAF Cessna 310 A/B will be appreciated :bump:

Those are nice. The blue one looks very familiar to me...maybe I've seen that one in real life a long time ago.

no PMs? ok..well where will you reliese the blue one and the camo one? id sure like to have them myself...Dave

I was active duty in the late 60's and the only U-3 version I remember was the light blue and white scheme. It made regular stops at Perrin while I was stationed there. Both of yours look excellent though, even though I never knew they had a camo version of the U-3.

Thanks a lot!

Daveroo: The intention is to upload the two liveries to the library here at SOH.
And thanks for noticing me about the PM (it will work now) :mixedsmi:

falcon409: This is probably the «light» blue U-3 that you remember?:

For the camo livery, I only had this drawing:

Just my opinion, not a rant at milviz, is that the C310 A/B models are more attractive than the long nosed models. Just my $0.02

:salute: To Milviz none the less.

BTW- Would it be possible, without seriously affecting the aircraft, to add turbochargers to the engine? An aircraft like that deserves turbos IMO :jump:

Make that $0.04. As great as the new 310 and paints look, I too find all the short nose models - including the early straight tail ones up until the P or R models (?) far more attractive. That is not a criticism, people's taste varies. Any chance of one? The DreamFleet 310 is VERY long in the tooth (I fly it in FSX 'cause I like the short nose 310 too much) and proved popular with simmers, so there should be room commercially for a native FSX version, for which I would definately be a buyer.

I wish that people are showing repaints would tell you where to get the airplene and how much it cost. I went to MilViz and was told it was only sold through Simmarket. I goes to Simmarkert and put in Cessna 310 and they don't know what you talking about. Net result, no Cessa 310.

Helldiver, its now sold through Flight1. If you go on the F1 website, its right there. I believe they charge you the princely sum of $29.99 USD for their amazing looking work. :wavey:

At this time, we're not planning a short nose (or a turbo for that matter) C310. However, that may well change but only in the future... Right now, we've got "other" things on our minds...

Helldiver, the sticky for the 310 has been up since it was released (2 weeks ago at least), with all the information you need right at the the top of the page here. This thread was started by "skyhawk" just to show off some liveries he's working on. In most cases, when a new aircraft is released for purchase it will be posted in the "sticky" area at the top. That's where you'll find the information you need on where to purchase and how much.:salute:

Here's one I took at the WV Air National Guard airshow 2 weeks ago. Comparison-wise, I think you're on the right track skyhawk. Looking forward to the paint.

The green tinted windows on the 310 was a stroke of genius.

Thanks! That is a super-secret FSX Material recipie. The formulary allows the (re)painter to use whatever color he/she wants, as everything else is handled automatically.
