• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I will book mark this thread, and once I get a 36 inch monitor, I will be able to see the entire picture at one time. From what I can see, it is either Ross H. Perot or Larry Hagman.

OBIO

It looks more like Bud Day to me, the most decorated USAF member ever. I never knew about this uniform. I want it back!!

Medal of Honor awarded for gallentry above and beyond the call of duty while incarcerated in the "Hanoi Hilton."

Many of these old heroes truly show what they're made of when it comes time to write an autobiography. Jimmy doolittle's was unbelievably filled with boasting and credit taking....

Bud Day's was truly the story of an incredible man. No BS, just the truth (sometimes embarassingly enough).

Panther, could you pls make the pic bigger? I'm not quite able to count all the pores on Col. Day's face. :icon_lol:
Way back in the days the Navy had a Dress White uniform with lapels for Chief Petty Officers, it was later dropped and we were left with the "choker" style jacket. Pic is from movie The Sand Pebbles, officers are in chokers, the Chief's got lapels.
