USCG PBY Catalina

It's probably missing something critical that I can't see offhand, but I just ported the Lelystad paint (which the USCG one looks like it is based on) onto the USN PBY-5A MIL and... well, it hasn't obviously not worked, let's put it that way. But it took a bunch of file renaming and the nose turret appears to be untextured (i.e. black framed).

So it isn't impossible to give the USCG a turret... ;)

I did indeed!

Basically, you have to go through and replace the CIV in each texture filename with MIL in the texture.whatever folder you are copying across. I didn't look where the turret texture was, so I don't know whether it is a standalone texture or part of another sheet that is ignored on the civilian paints.

This was only a quick rough test to see whether it was feasable. I've actually deleted the copy now, as I'm easily confused by having two identical thumbnails in the aircraft selection window. :isadizzy:

It wouldn't take me long to repeat the procedure, though.

All right, i'll try to do a Noseturret version, here is some progress:

...or, you know, Henry could save me the hassle... :ernae:

Thanks!

(But the turret texture question is going to bug me now and I'll have to work that out tomorrow anyway.)

Thats what i get for not reading the entire post before letting my brain race off to some thought or another.. Sorry Ian.. My eyes never made it to where you stated you renamed all the files..
Can i blame this on my ADD??? pweeeaaaase??? :engel016:

Another Beauty. :medals: I'm gonna have to find some help to help me finish McCalla field with fishermans Pier at MUGM NAS. At least I have Dinar Key CGAS by MoCat to base these beauties at.

Always blame the last person who left for everything. That way, no-one is ever truly found responsible for it. :bump:

On the downside? Doesn't look like fs.com has been updated yet at the time of writing. Bah.

Edit: Heads up!:

Henry, Will you be putting on the turret version on too?

Yes, but i have to apply all the textures on the other bmps, that means that i am forced to paint it again :kilroy: If i apply the textures used on the CIV version on another model, it will look corny.

Beautiful plane, paint and scenery. Just could not help but to want to land in the lakes below the tetons and see the nice reflections. Thanks Henry. Looking forward to the turret version too.
