To All,

My apologies for I believe I might have asked this question before, but cannot recall (suffering from CSR) :icon_lol:

Is there a site where I can download campaigns for CFS2?

Thanks.

Many: PTO, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Med, N Africa and Korea can be found here in the archives. You can also use Simviation as a source to find campaigns. :wiggle:

Thank you both Shadow Wolf & Finn! :salute:

Is there a way to determine if a campaign requires other items (airfields, planes, utilities, etc)?

At least for the time being, I'd like to stick with stock.

I would say I am fairly good with computers, but having just a simple copying and pasting (merging folders) would be an easy route at first.

Edited: BTW, Shadow Wolf, is the "here" suppose to be a link as it did not work for me? :ques:

Hi Dataman, I think Shadow Wolf was refering to our own "Warbirds" archive of addons for CFS2 which includes 72 campaigns.
Here is a link...
I do not know how many are built for stock CFS2 only. You will find most have been written to include quite a few addon items.

The authors are careful to provide clear instructions in their readme files about what is required.

Hello Dataman,

SW07 meant "here" as in at Sim-outhouse.:ipepsi2:

Click on the "warbirds" tab up above & navigate to the CFS2 add ons, then look for Campaigns in the list. It shows there are currently 72 entries!!!

Nearly all campaigns have a readme with a listing of any extras needed. Unfortunatly most campaigns do use a variety of add-ons, no only aircraft. However, there are a few campaigns you will find in this section that are based on stock installs.

The scenery add-ons can also be used to enhance the game's appearance even when flying stock campaigns/ missions.

and I would recommend upgrading all the stock aircraft using Dbolt/ B24 Guys overhauled planes. Lokk for Allen's recent reworking of these to make them WIN 7 friendly.

Have fun!

If you want to stick close to stock you can go with my P-39 and P-38 campaign.

All needed things are included. Aircraft and needed gauges. The campaign uses NO add on scenery. It is simple copying and pasting of folders to install.

You can get B24 Guys overhauled planes at the link below. He has Un-mirrored textures for all aircraft but for the F4U-1A plus AI aircraft now are flyable with Virtual Cockpit and Working Gauges. I my self do not care for Dbolt Weapons pack that some overhauls need my self (I converted my OHs back to stock weapons) but they are needed.

Thank you all so very much for your answers! :jump:

This really is a great community and I feel lucky to have stumbled here.

I will try the P-38 and the P-39 Campaigns and will defintely check out the others.

I truly apprecate everyone's kindness and feel free to call me "Kris" or "Data" (for some reason I could not register with that name).

Kris,

Welcome. If you want to try a custom campaign without having to download a lot of extra files, let me suggest you download my historical campaign "The 9th Fighter Squadron 49th Fighter Group in WWII". It's very comprehensive with plenty of new airbases, customized and add on airplanes, correct historical aircraft skins, custom ordinance, a set of UIRES screens especially for the campaign, etc.

But the entire package is self contained and self installing. All you need is a fresh installation of CFS2 and to click on the self install .exe file and you're ready to go.

It's a very easy way to get started. Once you get a taste of how good enhanced CFS2 campaigns can be, you'll be hooked on trying some more.

Also if you like flying in the European theater, Rami has created a guide to installing a comprehensive set of add-ons creating Europe in the 1940s (or you can use my simplified method contained int my "354th Fighter Group in WWII campaign). It takes some work but once you have that set up, almost all of Rami's campaigns - and my 354th campaign - use that set up, so you only have to do it once. Then you can just install any of the campaign files and add planes as needed then go fly them.

Thank you Captain Kurt!

I have downloaded your file and will give it a try.

To my knowledge, my current folder is only the original install as from the cd.

Now, should I copy this and save it on a separate drive or simply copy my current folder and then run the self-install to that one?

Additionally, you mentioned there were some instructions I might e able to follow concerning Rami's Campaigns.

Where might those be?

Data / Kris
