What one can now do for all missions,; day and night; is use the information from:-

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/reanaly...p=1&model=noaa
translate
https://translate.google.com/transla...-text=&act=url
and
https://digital.nmla.metoffice.gov.u...-a7d8c3eceb84/

to make (more) accurate weather and wind for all missions; including take off and landing winds.

To give an example, I am editing one of my old BC missions to Cologne by checking the weather of that day; 26th-27th Feb 1943; using the following as shown in the attached pictures.
One can check dates of actual missions using "The Bomber Command War Diaries" by Middlebrook, or going to http://webarchive.nationalarchives....ttp://www.raf.mod.uk/bombercommand/feb43.html

The UK data will give me approximate conditions under the current local conditions and the 24 hour more general forecast.

The German site gives wind speeds only up to 850 hPa which is 5000 ft, so I can't get actual jet stream heights. The colours in the map also give the approximate wind speeds at 5k'. For jet streams I can only work out when they were an issue from literature of particular raids, such as the Nueburg one.

This is about as accurate I have been able to get so far.

If anyone can seriously work out if we can set wind height in the xmls, that would be great!
