• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

i installed photobucket, even paid the 2.99 a month for more space, but for the life of me i cant figure out how to post large photos like B12 does.....whats the trick?..id like to take screenshots from inside FSX and post now and then.

Go to the Username drop down menu and select user settings>Albums Tab>at the very bottom is "Upload Options" Click the link below>Check the box that says Display linked photos in their original sizes

This is actually a three step process.

The first step is to create the image. I use the 'V' key in FSX to create a *.bmp file, and later convert it to a *.jpg file.

The second step is to upload the image file to Photobucket. Rick addressed how to upload.

The third step is to link the image on Photobucket to a post on the forums. Photobucket gives you a couple options. Here is what I do.

Once I upload my images I selected the Direct method and copy the path using Ctrl-C. For example a path looks like this without the quotes "http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-38-38-944_modified_zps7391b18c.jpg~original"

I then return to the forum and Reply to a thread such as this one. In the menu options of the post I select Insert Image. There are two options, one is "select from URL". From there I paste the path using "Ctrl-V", and deselect "Retrieve remote...." Before selecting "Okay" I remove the text at the end [~original] so that the path ends in *.jpg.

This is the result.

Does that help??

When you go to upload pics, you can drag-n-drop with photobucket. Once you are done uploading,
go to your Library. Once there If you hover your mouse at the top right corner of your pic, you will see a
settings symbol. Click that, then click "Get Links", then click on the bottom IMG code. (its copied the url
to clipboard) Now come here and then paste the link into your post.

don't use photobucket...

use flickr.

it has a stupid ui BUT

since Yahoo bought flickr and overhauled the site, they gave each user free 1tb hosting with access to full resolution!

No other site offers something as good as that and your shots don't get compressed, they're uploaded 1:1, just like you saved it!

I use flickr for all my posting as well. Straight forward, and all resolutions are accessible.

Amen!

My son tipped me off on Flickr.... and it is so easy, and simple to use... no fuss no muss...
I got tired of posting my work here and show up without detail... simply because of that rigid 1024x 768 max. limit...
Here is an example...

tried them both.....got alot of crap from flirkr, ive closed both accounts already and will just use what i have.....unless you have a way to get around all the crap i had to uninstall off my PC.

I didn't have to install anything to use Flickr. It simply uses a yahoo I'D to login. Everything is housed online.
