USS Nimitz and USS Eisenhower FLOLS issue

Hello,

I am using Javier's USS Nimitz and USS Eisenhower in P3D v2 along with AICarriers with RFN Gauges. They are working well except for the FLOLS. When you approach the carrier the FLOLS do not light up. I sent an e-mail to Javier but I have not heard from him. I was wondering if anyone might know if there is a fix for this issue?

Thank you!

I would be interested in this as well. I am not going to install any of the carriers until after Christmas, when I install my SSDs. THEN I will install it all! The FLOLS will be a nice addition. NC

I don't get them either, tried playing around with the effects settings as well and nothing. They also don't seem to show up on the default carrier.
I know the RFN Charles de Gaulle and the Team SDB Enterprise use the RFN Gauge to drive the FLOLS, as does the Victorious we've just released, so they may well work in P3D if the effects they're using instead are still included.
It may just be an oversight on the part of LM, or they may have decided it wasn't accurate or flexible enough of a representation of the real thing to include in the core product.

Is that using the Acceleration style FLOLS on the Enterprise or the one that uses the RFN Gauge to drive them? I could get the latter to work but not the former.

Was wondering how you got the rfn gauge to work in prepar v2. I have it installed but everytime I try to use it I get sound.wav errors needing fsx carrier mission sounds and it locks up the sim.

The fix is to copy all the CarrierPractice_XX.wav files from your \Missions\Military\CarrierPractice\Sound\ folder in FSX into your Prepar3D \Sound\ folder.
Then open your P3D version of RFN_Parameters.xml (inside the \gauges\ folder). I used WordPad. Edit the last section such that the path for the CarrierPractice_XX.wav sound files is shortened to simply read ./Sound/ thus:

Code:
<SoundFiles Language="US"
        Wire1="./Sound/CarrierPractice_21.wav"
        Wire1_msg="Wire number 1!"
        Wire2="./Sound/CarrierPractice_22.wav"
        Wire2_msg="Wire number 2!"
        Wire3="./Sound/CarrierPractice_23.wav"
        Wire3_msg="Wire number 3!"
        Wire4="./Sound/CarrierPractice_24.wav"
        Wire4_msg="Wire number 4!"
        TooHigh="./Sound/CarrierPractice_16.wav"
        TooHigh_msg="Too high!"
        TooLow="./Sound/CarrierPractice_17.wav"
        TooLow_msg="Too low!"
        LineUp="./Sound/CarrierPractice_19.wav"
        LineUp_msg="Line up!"
        CallBall="./Sound/CarrierPractice_33.wav"
        CallBall_msg="Call the ball!"
        WaveOff="./Sound/CarrierPractice_09.wav"
        WaveOff_msg="Wave Off! Wave Off!"/>
</SoundFileList>

Interesting... I have the acceleration hornet working but so far no go except for the FLOLS on the Team SDB Enterprise. Has Jimi told anyone exactly how he was able to get the FLOLS working on the USS Nimitz and USS Eisenhower? I have tried moving the boat objects as well as the dll but still no luck. Has anyone heard of anyone else who has managed to get them working?

I haven't installed Javier's Nimitz in P3Dv2 in a normal way, I just copied all the folders in the simobjects from FSX to P3D, and the FLOLs are not working of course.
However, since this is some kind of "effect", I believe there must be some files OUT of the simobjects folders that should be transfered too. But I don't know which ones.
What I know is: when you perform a search in the main FSX folder for all files with "flol" in their names, the number of results is different than the same search in P3D. There are some files missing in P3D, compared to FSX, and that *MIGHT* be the origin of the problem.

The Acceleration FLOLS is supposed to automatically appear for boat SimObjects based on the attach points, though. I don't think there's anything additional that needs to be done for the developer or end user.

I extracted the uss_Nimitz_ike_version2 files and checked the effects folders. I had already placed them in the p3d effects folders. I also searched for FLOL and I have the same number of files in both my FSX and P3D folders. I am thinking that it is probably a DX11 issue since there is mention in the readme file of light issues with DX10... I read that LM is working on backward compatibility issues so hopefully it will be fixed in the patch.
