Valid Pilot Countries ETO 1.50

A quick question:

does anyone know why there are only nine valid pilot countries in the pilotconstants.xml, when there are twenty nations listed in the NEK_ETO and the country.xml files?

In the pilotconstants.xml, it says "In this file, in entry "ValidPilotCountries" list the country names corresponding to each country for which the user is allowed to createand use pilots".

Don't know if this is a historical thing or if it is deliberate.

Hi D,

For no other reason than I overlooked it when making the ETO NEK set. Although I have not found it to be an issue during game play (yet).

If you want to add in the other countries you can copy text below into your file.

<entry name="ValidPilotCountries" type="string" value="Britain,Germany,USA,Australia,Britain_FAA,Canada,Belgium,Italy_Allied,France_Free,US_Navy,Other_Allied_Nations,Russia,Belgium,Netherlands,Spain_Republicans,Poland,Italy,Vichy_France,Vichy_France,Other_Axis_Nations,Other_Axis_Nations,Spain_Nationalists"/>

I'll add this to the list of things for the next update.

Regards Rob.

Hi Rob, thats all good. No idea what difference missing pilot countries would make it might even be a redundant artifact. I seem to recall some old discussions about the maximum number of countries possible to have in the NEK file, and I wondered if it was something to do with that. But it seems not.

Is there a list being compiled for the next ETO update, I have a number of modified files?

David
