VB P-51B/C Drop Tanks

Long about May I asked a question about drop tanks not dropping. I have forgotten the fix.

My VB P-51B/C will not drop it's wing tanks.

Do I just need to pick a different P-51B/C to fly on these missions?

I just loaded up my FDG2 P-51B/C that they released one Christmas as freeware. With Topper III skins and the Dbolt mods it is the bomb. :ernae:

If the FDG guys don't mind, I will convert all of the Tuskegee Airmen P-51B/C long range missions over to their free release of this fine aircraft.

I will still use the VB for AI squadrons, but if the player aircraft has to mix it up a bit with the Germans, drop tanks MUST drop and on the FDG2, they drop. :kilroy:

The fix for the drop tank is in the air file. You will need to open the VB air file in Aired, then slide it to the side. Then open an airfile of a second aircraft that has working drop tanks using a second run of Aired. The drop tank lines are 534 and 535. Select line 534 in the air file with the line, right click, Copy To Cipboard. Click in the air file without the line. Right Click on any line, Paste From Clipboard. This will add line 534 to the air file. Do the same thing with line 535.

I have already added the drop tank lines to the air file from the VB P-51B Bee, and am attaching it. Simply rename it by removing the TXT from the end.

Big T, You are the MAN! :ernae:

It did not work to copy, rename and paste your file, but aired did the job!

Thanks, Buddy!

AND, I still like that FDG2 P-51B/C that they gave us for free, even though I also paid for the other B/C model and the FDG2 B-17. They are great and I use them on my own flights.
