Bruce,I'm Sorry I really wasn't thinking[Happens alot to me] I didn't mean to derail the thread and great message about the price reduction on Vertigo's great aircraft.

It's great to see you posting and I immediately thought of the upcoming F9F when I saw this thread.

Awesome paints, Bruce. Just one question. Can you see a good bit of the fuselage, wings, and tail from inside the VC?

Absolutely Brilliant :USA-flag:watch the movie last night 'Toko-ri' , the deck handling of the Panther and one clever trick having a attachable connected to the nose gear to help direct the plane to the catapult via deck personal steering . :salute:

The paints are not mine so therefore cannot take credit where credit is due.

wow....amazing......will there be an option for underwing fuel tanks?

not at the moment, going through the books, it was rare for underwing tanks to be carried, but always an option i'll throw it back up the line.

If you look over your shoulder you can see the wings and tip tanks, but the tail is obscured by the seat and rear bulkhead.

I'm kinda hoping Bruce will do Brubakers plane!

Beautiful ! :applause:

Nitpick ( well... ) : since the pilot is fully modeled ( nice touch !) P1-4 helmets with visor were used by the USAF *not* by the Navy/Marines. The latter used H-4 helmets with integrated U.S.N. Goggles and (often) a boom mike during the Panther/Cougar era:

If you need more photos, i have lots. ( I collect these things. Not so much the photos ( be it that too) but the real thing  )

Seriously - wonderful progress to date - long awaited. Nice that the photo recce versions are being modeled - I can't quite tell from the shots if you've got the -2p or the -5P - I'm just happy there is a recce plane in the works.

Concur with Bruce - the only Panther I've ever seen photographed with underwing tanks is of a Revel scale model kit. This was discussed greatly at length back in the FS2002/4 days regarding the otherwise exemplary (for its time) Aeroplane Heaven model. Some work was done by some folks here with alpha channels to attempt doing away with the tanks that they modelled on theirs.

Looking forward to the great work - looks fantastic!

They are the F9F-5 and 5P.

The only 2 phots I have come across and reading through the pilots manual tanks carried on the 2 inboard pylons was on the 5P which had the pylons specially modified to carry the 150 gallon tanks, and only 36 5P's were built by Grumman.
