Vid card Update Question

I have been running an NVidia 9600GT card w/512RAM and it has done a great job, but I'd like to upgrade. I have $200 to spend and that would have to include the card and any additional cooling hardware. Yea I know. . . .miracles you say, lol. If it isn't possible, then I'll truck on with what I have, but if there's something out there that's not "Hot off the Press" but still better than what I have. . . .it may be something I can afford now, that maybe a year or so ago when it first came out was beyond my meager limits.

Thanks for any suggestions.:salute:

You can pick up a nVidia GTX560 for less than $200 at Newegg. Since you're in a metro area, you could check out prices at Fry's or Micro Center and see how they compare.

Couple of months ago I changed out a 9800GTX+ for a GTX560 and it's gone OK. More of a difference in Flight v. FSX, due to the coding of the games.

Outside of your budget..but a much better card than the vanilla 560 and with great cooling too... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127608.
Very nice KD. Unfortunately, while I was posting this question last evening I got nailed with an encryption Virus and may have to reformat both HDD's to get it cleaned out. Looks like, unless someone has a known cure for that particular virus, I could be on hold for anything right now, especially a new Vid Card. Grrrrr:banghead:

Sorry to hear that,Ed. On the bright side..a reformat every once in a while is actually a great system performance booster.
