The latest FSrecorder beta version CAN record videos as movie format with some restrictions (instead as datas like in the regular version)The latest FSRecorder module (ver 2.16) has a new tool that allows "rendering" a flight to video, which is a bit different than a live capture. The plus side is that you can max all the graphic sliders and scenery and AI traffic that you want, and you still end up with beautifully smooth video.
The down side - no sound is recorded when you make the rendering. The video format is limited to wmv, though the drop down menu shows MP4 as well. It might be a matter of what video codecs you have installed.
You can get all the details from the FSRecorder website at: http://www.fs-recorder.net/
