Video card problem

Here is my problem, recently my computer begin to crash vhen i watch any videos, few colourful horizontal liness appear and then monitor turns off, sometimes everything just blinks and back to normal sometimes computer just get stuck with no mouse moving,nor num or caps lock lights reacting and then monitor shuts down and i have to push reset. Its strange that games run fine, problems start when watching videos, i tried to change drivers old and new, but with new ones pc only crashes more often, now i changed my geforce 6200 to old 440mx and there's no more crashes, even flightsim while runs on lower fps now runs somehow more stable. Im saving for new pc and buying new stuff for old one is not an option, so gentelmen give me you thoughts, is there any way to make my video card more stable for a good month till i retire it?
 
sounds like a cooling issue, try cleaning your fan on the vidio card.
check to see if the fan even works?
 
Thanks Ickie, my old card temperatures were about 35ºC idle and 55ºC while gaming, i got another video card and everything is working fine, except that "new" card is making cricket like noise so i guess i have to put some oil on fan somehow

I think problem is rubbing angainst housing, this card was working for long 6 years and always made such nose former owner told me and now i remembered that his computer was always making funny noises, im surre it could go for few months more. Grass airfields look even more alive on nice summer day with sound effects of grasshoppers and crickets
