That's good. Yes I just wished I had the equipment to record 16 Spits (and the earlier 4 Hurricanes) wheeling about the blue sky...sigh!

I just wish i was there to hear them all mate. Must have been awe inspireing. I love going to east kirkby when they have the taxi runs. I must must MUST get to duxford at somepoint though.

Puts me in mind of the time I saw the Spitfire and Hurricane near to your old house. I was talking to your dad about it and we suddenly became aware of those unmistakeable engine sounds again, getting nearer. Your dad fairly leapt from his seat! We watched them from your front garden. I don't think I ever saw him move so fast!
 
Thanks for a nice memory of my ol' dad. He was very interested in WW2 and modern aircraft, even though he did his national service in the army. As a kid we always made sure that we watched the Farnborough Airshow on TV with Raymond Baxter presenting.
