Vietnam For CFS2

Hello No Dice.

I visited your link and am wondering what kind of input we can actually provide to a CFS2 campaign.

- Ivan.

Me too, No Dice.

I think that it may come from a misconception about CFS1 "specialists"; The fact that we know that game inside and out does not imply that we have the talents, and knowledge, to delve into CFS2.
Both games are very similar but, at the same time, differ in many respect.

This was quite clear to me when I received some attention from the CFS2 community (aka "The Basement") about my jeep and ways to make it comply with CFS2 environment. Some bleeds were caused by the Z-buffering provided to CFS2 vehicles. They were asking to "fix it", which is as easy as getting a square peg in a round hole.

And that was one aspect that I did understand. Many other I simply "don't get", like how AIR files work, how you can use the possibility to change weapons stores, how grounds surfaces react. And those are some of the ones I'm vaguely aware of, many are still unknown to me.

Getting back on the saddle with CFS1 is enough chores for my "to do" list right now. But thanks for the (misplaced) vote of confidence.:wavey:

sorry Dave...
here are my reasons/excuses
for not helping you out;

for starters,
my gaming/development machine
hasn't even been started up
for several months, now.
simply put, i'm on flight sim hiatus.
not that i haven't considered returning,
but, in truth, i have other things going on
that are taking nearly all of my time.

second and more important to your project,
several years ago,
i went back to cfs
and uninstalled cfs2.
it sits in a box on the shelf
and will stay there
for the foreseeable future.

and finally,
my flight sim interests lean
toward world war two era
scenarios, aircraft and scenery.

sorry, buddy
i wish i could help you out,
but, it just isn't in the cards.

Hi, No Dice,
I was wondering too, what I could do, and I was waiting a few days for an idea. However, none of the programmes I use for creative work for flightsimming can produce things for CFS2.
Ever so sorry! Best of luck anyway!
We got a nice visit in the sub-sub-basement the other day, from Blood Hawk. Perhaps you are already in contact. His work with CFS2 could possibly be just the kind you require.
Cheers,
Aleatorylamp

Hello Aleatorylamp,

Blood Hawk already has his own page on No Dice's site.
He is actually quite a prolific author so we definitely have an honoured guest in the sub-sub-basement.

- Ivan.

Hello All,
Yes John ( Blood Hawk), Allen, Gius ect.ect. are all involved in the project.

As a matter of fact, John is recreating all the original macros to make them exploding objects,

Allen with his great programming for conversions and more....the list goes on and on

Actually it is a total new CFS2 and requires a total separate installation.

I just made the invite because you are all great minds and artists, well respected by me.

Dave

Hello all,
No Dice, thank you for your good words!
Well then, as I´d expected, it looks like the project is well underway.
I don´t have CFS2, so I´m afraid I wouldn´t even be able to look at or try anything out to make any suggestions.
I wish all those involved the best of luck in this ambitious project!
Cheers,
Aleatorylamp
