Virtual Fly-In Community

Hi everyone,

I have been working closely with a friend of mine for almost a year now trying to create scenery and structure for the FS World's first virtual fly-in community. We were both very disappointed when Aerosoft beat us to the punch, but we quickly realized that their community is not free, and is only for FSX.

We will be opening our free, virtual fly-in community for FS2004 only, very soon. I'd love to hear some of your opinions on the idea, as well as any interest there may be in being a homeowner or hangar tenant. Due to the fact that we will most likely not have enough land or plots for everyone who wants one, once a group of individuals show interest in one piece of property, there will be a selection process based on certain criteria. While I dont want to release too many details just yet, know that the community is in Vermont, USA, and is equipped to handle light jet traffic. Once again, there is absolutely no charge to be a member of our community. We're just a community of virtual aviators enjoying the realism of FS at its best.

I like the idea but it is the wrong area for my personal taste. Maybe once you get this one all set you can open a franchise in the Victoria,BC vicinity :D

Thanks for the heads up CapCEO. I hope it goes well.

Vermont is a beautiful area. Would be nice to fly in there in Autumn.

Thanks for the support guys. It really is a beautiful setting. The community and airport are on a small island near Burlington, VT. Ill be releasing more details soon, but would love to hear about any interest there is in being a part of the community.

Would love to be part of it if I knew how to fly on-line. Seems like a lot of work to someone who doesn't know how to do it and is a little gun shy with doing things to my computer.

Flying on line is almost as easy as flying solo off line. Setting up your router or ports to allow online flight is super easy. I had never done it before and following DangerousDave's how to on SOH.net (the flight server) had me ready for on line flight in record time. Haven't flown online in a while...haven't done much flying at all for a while actually. Have no fear, there are plenty of folks here who can help you get set up for online flight.

Well said Tim. I'd be more than happy to help anyone who needs it when it comes to online flying.

'First' virtual flying community !??? You must have skipped a year or ten then :icon_lol:

Actually Aersosoft copied it from Emma Field's community (where Emma Field itself was produced by LAGO at the time). Mathijs can correct me if I am wring, but that was more than 10 years ago by now, built for FS2000.
