Finally got the Solomon Islands post card! Took a while; there’s more airports than I though out that way! The pics show the landing at Ontong Java. Yep, part of the Solomons (didn’t know that either!) It’s a very large atoll, one of the largest in the world, made up of many teeny tiny islands like this one. There seems to be some debate as to whether it was formed by volcanic activity or a meteorite impact. FS is fun and educational! :d

Paul can you send me info on Cuba in Visit Series - Continents - Carribean - DEFAULT - BASIC. I need to know what airports. My log has me visting all 38 + the addional 65 ive personally restored to the sim.

Hi Folks

Tim -
Continents
Visit Series - Continents - Carribean - DEFAULT - BASIC

Is as per title - 'Continents'
i.e.
That reward is for landing at every airport,
in every country in the Carribean, (202 airports).

'Continents' rewards only use the country's GUIDs
from the Visit_Series_Countries_COUNTRYNAME reward.

Cuba
FSX only includes 38 airports for Cuba.

Visit_Series_Countries_Cuba_DEFAULT_BASIC.RWD
is for those specific 38 airports only.

Not really sure what your question is.

Earning Rewards
Visiting is not enough.
e.g. using Go To Airports dialog.

You need to actually land at all 38 default airports. :icon_lol:

Are you saying -
you've landed at all 38 airports,
and you've not received the reward ?

Please check your recorded landings using -
Jean-Christophe Arnulfo's FSX Logbook Viewer (fsxlogbook 1.00D),

Have you landed at all the various offshore island airports ?
e.g.
Isla de la Juventud

PS
There should be a MASTER reward for Cuba
released in the near future.

Isla de la Juventud That's what i missed. Pesky little independent dept within Cuba and home to a historical prison complex. Actually i Guess i need to update the Wicke on Cuba Airports. Theres two airports and a helo port on that island offically. I'll have to upload the scenery i have made for Isla de la Juventud sometime this week.

Hi Folks

Tim -
:icon_lol:
Good guess.
Glad it was as simple as that.

Have you got the reward now ?

Wiki
Airport/airfield listings are dreadfully underpopulated.

Hi Folks

For ease of installation
all 'Visit Series' packages now use a ClickTeam executable installer.

The installer will -
- Detect your FSX folder location.
- Place the rewards & matching REWARD_CONTENTS.txt files into the appropriate sub-folder.
- Place an appropriately named uninstaller and README into your FSX root folder.

What's this Cuba is calling me for challenge? Time to breakout the epic and Goose with a splash of MoCat. I'll post my rewards pic soon.

Hi Folks

Tim -
:icon_lol:

Funnily enough
I was just searching across all these forums
to see which thread you'd posted in about Cuba.

As you've already visited these airports,
therefore earned them,
all you need do is launch FSX.

All Cuba rewards should be automatically displayed.

I obviously can't fly enough
to obtain all of these,
so please post your screenie.

Much appreciated.

Boy that looks like a lot of fun. I had such an extensive amount of rewards I collected in FSX. I had nearly completed all of the default ones, a few addon's, and all of the Aerosoft ones, and then ended up losing all of them, and my logbook in a HD crash. I thought I had backed them up, but never could find the files on my flash drive, or external HD.

Haven't had the heart to get them all back since then. :frown:

VISIT SERIES - COUNTRIES - COLLECTIONS - Release Cycle

Hi Folks

Dain -
Sorry to hear about your having lost your hard earned rewards.

Had a similar problem myself during beta. :banghead:
Hence the FS Insider - Support Alert

Haven't yet reacquired them all,
but it was much quicker second time around.

To prevent future occurrence
it's worth backing up your GrantedRewards.BIN & Logbook.BIN.

For file locations, please see - FSDeveloper - Wiki - Pilot_Records

VISIT SERIES - COUNTRIES - COLLECTIONS - Release Cycle

The following is a generic response
to various questions posted either in this, or other forums,
or received by PM & email.

Due to download size practicalities
it's unlikely there'll be a single All_IN_ONE download package.

By extrapolation,
I expect the worldwide coverage collection of MASTER detailed rewards
to be approximately 100MB in size.

I'll probably eventually release them as 3 download packages.
N.B.
This is a long time off, (at earliest summer 2009).

I'd never intended to release the UPDATES packs
as frequently as I have done recently, (see below).
Just got carried away. :icon_lol:

It's always been my intent to release
intermediate EVERYTHING_TO_DATE type collections.

The first of these will be released after UPDATES - PACK 10,
some time early next year.

The suggestion of once-a-month releases
containing EVERYTHING_TO_DATE would be impractical.

You'd be repeatedly making > 25MB,
and increasingly larger downloads,
for approximately 3MB of new/updated content.

Due to other FS & IRL commitments,
the next release, UPDATES - PACK 8,
will most likely be the last for the current year.

At that point
I'll release a global map image
indicating the then available BASIC & MASTER coverage extent.

You may also have noticed,
the recently released MASTER reward files
are not as detailed in categorisation scope,
as some of those released earlier in the VISIT SERIES.

i.e.
Recent files generally only include state/province/county type rewards.

Rather than the older reward sets
which include state/province/county,
plus rewards for -
- Capitals
- Military
- Cities
etc.

This is due to
the enormous amount of time it takes,
to accurately collate & check such data.

Smaller & less developed country's Wiki entries
are far less detailed,
and often missing much of the nescessary data.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Over time, & where possible,
such rewards will be updated to similar categorisation scope.

I had only intended releasing 1 UPDATES pack per month.

I've just been "clearing the decks" recently
by releasing compiled rewards based on previously collated datasets.

So bottom line -
For anyone who's interested,
recommend you download whatever's been released to date.

Each package download is less than 3MB,
so shouldn't be a major inconvenience. :icon_lol:

Have fun.

Hi Folks

Congrats Paul.

Have you decided on your next area to explore ?
Maybe have a look at the quick-hit listing of easy to acquire rewards.

What did you create your route map with please ?

I’ve decided to move on to New Guinea. More airports there, it will take a while to complete. The program I used to create the plan and the map is Super Flight Planner, found here:
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

It’s a pretty good package, works for both FS9 and FSX. And free.
