Vista New Scenery Adding

Okay,
I have turned off UAC.
I have installed FS9 in C:\FS9 folder instead of Program Files.
I have installed new scenery into Addon Scenery folder.
I run FS2004 as administrator.

I am NOT able to start up the program and install new scenery in the FS2004 program like I can under XP. I hit add area and all it does is sit there and NOT add the scenery when I hit OK.

What am I missing, or, is it not possible to add scenery to FS2004 under Vista?

An extra click. After you click 'OK', click in the white area in the box that shows the scenery folder. That should do it! I have read that you need to right click, but I haven't had any problem left-clicking; however I am using Win 7, which might be slightly different.

Best,
Myles

Nope, doesn't do the trick in Vista. Still just sits there.

Where is the scenery cfg for FS2004? I will hand edit it.

I find it works best if you browse to the area you want to add and instead of clicking on it simply hover the mouse over the file until Vista/W7 selects the file automatically. Then and only then click the OK button and it should be good to go. It's a bit of a pain but this approach has always worked for me.

The scenery.cfg file is in the same folder as your FS9.cfg file.....and a bit harder to find on Vista/W7.

Cheers
Stefan

Actually the *active* scenery.cfg folder is in your main FS9 folder, at least in XP, as I remember. There is a backup copy alongside the other cfg files.
