• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Vista Problem from newbie

Hi there, i just signed up a few days ago but i seem to keep having a rather annoying problem with CFS3.

I started playing it again sometime last week and never had a problem with it but then all of the sudden, when i put the cd in and launch the game, the game crashes and thats it. I only get to the picture of the pilots and then it crashes. I dont get a error message or anything. The only thing I keep receiving is a message saying that the game wasnt shut down correctly the last time i played it and it keeps asking me if i want to troubleshoot the problem. The only remedy that i have found for this problem is to uninstall it and then re-install the game everytime i want to play it but that is getting just as annoying and irritating.

So if anyone could help me out, that would be great.
 
Good Lord I am having the same problem.
Have you had any luck.
I've tried multiple re-install. Instal as Admin. Install without virus or even firewall. Still crashes during the opening screen. Tried my CDs on another computer (too low performance to game) and it worked. Tried update of Intel chip, DirectX, Graphics card etc. and still same problem.
Tried both updates to CFS3.
Even updated my bios.
It may have taken me less time to just find a new P51 and a friend with an Me109. :ernae:
Just like you a get no error message to work with.
Also any help would be great.

I tried the combatability mode idea in an earlier post and it worked:amen:
Don't know if you tried that yet, but give it a go if not JediMaster.

to turn it off works for me ,,, ever since someone on here told me works great .


to to control panel of vista find folder named .

user accounts

open and make sure you turnoff /account control ....then works
