I dont know what is happening here.

I used to play cfs3 on a friends computer as my current pc isnt up to standards! It played fine but recently they had to format and reinstall windows thanks to a virus.

Ive come to installing it again which went fine, but when i try to play it it cant load up the title menu screen and it crashes. I get an error message stating that the driver nvlddmkm had stopped working.

Ive updated the graphics driver to the latest version and even tried opening it as administrator and uninstalling it turning off user account controls and reinstalling it and nothing has worked with me gettingthe same error every time! I have also tried running in xp compatibility mode.

The computer is running on a 32-bit vista service pack 1. It uses a GeForce 7500LE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am dying to take to the skies again!

Thanks!

nvlddmkm driver problems have been reported recently. :gossip: All I could suggest is a Google search for answers.

I have alot of experience with nVidia drivers as I update mine every 4 to 5 weeks....you need to get one of the driver cleaning applications found here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Generic-Utilities_c8.html and properly uninstall and remove all traces of the old driver, then reinstall the new drivers. Be sure to download the latest driver for your GPU from http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us or:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/ first, save the new driver installer to the desktop, then uninstall the old drivers using add/remove programs or the device manager, reboot into safe mode ( F8 during startup) and run the driver cleaner ( driver cleaner pro, 3dguru driver sweeper, or nasty file remover (NFR for nVidia only) ), when the cleaner is done removing lingering files from the registry reboot as usual and install the new drivers.....

If you still have the same problem after that, shut down, pull the power, and re-seat the GPU......make sure any power connections required are plugged into it....plug back in and startup....if that doesn't help, contact the GPU manufacturer as you might have corrupted or burned out hardware....

Hope it helps you

I forgot to mention the other option for Vista users.....

uninstall the old drivers and clean with one of the sweeper/cleaner apps....then reboot into Windows and do not manually install any drivers....open Windows update....check for new updates....you might need to click view available updates as auto-update only installs high priority updates, but the most current nVidia (or ATI) WHQL driver will show up in Windows Update.....select it, and install it....
