Hi guys; I just tried a free download called "Vista Services Optimizer". On my lowest fps I got 7fps increase. In some high scenery areas I got about 20 fps. I am using 64 bit Vista. It is the first program that has given me any fps on the low end of the scale. It gives me over 400fps on the high end. All I really care about is getting the low end up. Still searching for 8 or 9 fps on my very high scenery areas. If you are looking for a little fps increase, this just might be what you need.

I would assume that it changes what services are stated at bootup? If you are interested I can post a link to a very good Vista tweak guide that will help a lot.

safn1949: That would be great! I am not sure how the Vista Services Optimizer works, but it must stop something from running that I never found. So far with the V.S.O. all I did was click the button for "game", and got some much needed fps on the low end. I've fiddled with Black Viper, mostly using the "safe settings". I tried Alacrity, and although warned not to, tweaked a little too much, so I'm a little gun shy now! I have found a lot of programs that will increase fps in the high end, but not the low end. Thanks for your help, every fps increase is a blessing! I am inching toward my goal.

I'll try it out, but I think I have used in before. I also need to go through the Vista Tweak Guide again . . . probably the same one safn1949 is talking about. I lost all my changes when I replaced the hard drive some months back. Anyway, maybe the Services Optimizer will do it without all that reading and studying. After all, I just finished school. Who wants to go back to studying.
