As I still needed to do a silver dope Pfalz I have done the Pfalz D.III from Vizefeldwebel (Sergeant) Hecht from Jasta 10. This aircraft was captured by the British and taken to the UK for evalution.

Looks brilliant Huub!

Some really excellent work on these birds. Have you thought of starting your own simulator lately? :d

Personally I think the Pfalz is one of the best looking WW-I panes made. Somehow it seems to be in proportions better than the Albatros and it definitely looks much better than the bulky Fokker D.VII.

For the purists:
I did this repaint after a profile by "Ward" in the Profile publication 43, however according to Greg Vanwyngarden it had a green tail.
There are also sources which say that Hecht flew the Pfalz from Werner Voss. Although he scored several victories in the Pfalz, Voss preferred the Fokker Dr.1. In this case the yellow bands around the fuselage could be black .

Overall, it was a better airplane than the Alby Huub. But Pfalz was Bavarian and they were autonomous from Germany, ergo the Kaiser and the Prussian elite had a prejudice against Bavarian firms. I too think it is one of the sleekest designs, along with Roland's Walfishe, to come out of the Great War.

Another super paint Huub, will be on the lookee.
