VN Sara and VN Lex

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this topic has already up here in the discussion.

VN Sara and VN Lex here in library are very good model but unfortunately they are bare (no texture) except flight deck.

Is anybody here are considered or interested to make her new dress?

Or is there any version with texture somewhere in the library?

you can use the texture of the VN Enterprise 1944 of my colection, but any need add a designation texture in the mdl file. I can do not it, Allen or stuarts are people to can be rework ships models.

There are others versión, but are heavy and bigger in size, there are a prewar Lexington in soh library. Saratoga in blue deck is exelent but like you opinión has no texture except fligh deck.
 
I thought about the VN Sara and VN Lex after I did the my USS Wasp. Never could find a good view of both side so I could try to make textures.

Yeah, unfortunately, I also have no knowledge how to put textures on ship model.
As you pointed out, there is also beautiful model made by Ushio but unfortunately, it's pre-war version, so it couldn't fit WW2 mission.

For the VN Saratoga of blue deck, use the sides of blue vn Enterprise 1944. Is the best choise.

Thanks for your concern.
If you are willing to put bare textures bitmap on the model, i will try to put details of texture on the bitmap.
I can't promise if I can do it well, but I will give a try to my best.

If you have some free time in future and can consider of it, i will appreciate for your consideration.

personally have replaced the fly deck of Saratoga by this, to combine with Enterprise in 1943 and is exelent team.

I do not know how, because I was do it. But Stuart writte me.

GMax, which is a free program as well as the FS2004 development kit.
To import the VN models to GMax you need another program, ModelconverterX. (I use modelconverterx_latest_development_release)
1. Import the mdl file to ModelconverterX.
2. Save as 3ds
3. Open GMax
4. Import the 3ds model
5. Save as Gmax model.
 
I might be able to help...

Once you have the mapping done... I can put ANY texture you want on the texture map...
(and make it pretty darn nice looking too... ) would just love to do it for you... so you can have a really nice model...
(High def LARGE textures too)

Actually the VN Lexington and Saratoga are in the right camo for the early war,Sea Blue. Lexington had her 8 inch guns removed in March 1942 and replaced with quad 1.1 AA guns. Saratoga had the 8 inch guns replaced also. She had twin 5 inch gun turrets.

Later in the war Saratoga was one of the first carriers along with Enterprise to be equipped for night ops.

I do remember there was a Sara in the late war scheme by VN but not sure if it was released.

Also that pic Maxstuka put up has the 8 inch turrets on it.

The VN also made a prewar Lex and Sara.I just found them in one of my installs ship folder. I forgot about them
