Waht parameter governs this

In the aircraft selection preview window, the one where the aircraft slowly rotates to the left, more often than not, you can grab hold of the aircraft with the mouse cursor and manually turn it around for examination. Sometimes it is not possible to grab it. Is there a switch in the cfg file which permits this? Applies also to FSX but I didn't post the query there.

I think it's more of a glitch than a parameter you can tweak. Usually happens to me after the sim gets an error. Swapping out the current fs9.cfg file with a back-up copy (I keep one in My Documents) usually fixes the problem, maybe somebody else knows what causes it.

Possibly, although it does seem a/c specific as I have tried others after a failure and they are grabbable, then gone back to the non grabbable one and again not able. It's not a huge problem of course just an interesting glitch.

Typically not being able to rotate the preview happens because the sim can't load the 3d model correctly. Such as when you add a repaint and the model= line does not match up but the other lines are correct.
Can you select and fly the model that refuses to rotate ?? if so then I am out of ideas.

Cheers
Stefan

It's a well-known nVidia glitch in full-screen.
I haven't been able to grab an aircraft for years...heck, the cursor even disappears and you have to scrub it around to find it!

I always figured that was just the way it went. I suppose this is because I have always had nVidia graphic processors. Learn something new everyday.

Sorry to dredge up an old one (been away), but it's not just an nVidia thing. You get the same results on ATI. On a side note, you can also change the rotation. While in Windowed mode, click on the plane's window once. Then while you have the NumLock on, hit % to stop the rotation, 0 to reset the position, then play with other numbers. Try hitting 4,7, and 8 at the same time!
