Wanting to know about white squares that shows up during game play?

I have experienced white squares showing up during game play especially on certain effects or engine statrups and at other times during playing CFS3.

I have read in past threads and posts about this quirk of CFS3 being discussed. Has any other fellow member fiqured out what causes this and posted the reason why and how to resolve this issue within the game?

Before I step any fellow members toes that has been able to resovle this problem and then has posted how to do so. Please direct me to that thread that states how to correct this issue about CFS3.

If not. Then I have been able to do so with my two versions that have been heavely modified beyound the original version of the game.

Missing effects image files, or a lag before they are loaded into your RAM, or whatever it is. If they appear systematically every time an effect is triggered, then you're missing a dds file. As to how to find which one...

squares

ok guys first. did you delete the main weapons folder bdp? these effect lines are not in the preload xml so the first time they "fire up" squares will appear for a second or so.if it is a longer time,or doesn't look like the posted picture. your probably missing the download -cfs3 new contrails- by henk . these are the reference textures. for the smoke.

Do the white squares show up consistently in the same place and at the same time? Without knowing the details of the PC you are running CFS3 on, CPU/Graphics card/RAM/OS/etc....I am just guessing, but the squares you are seeing could be video lag....if your processor, graphics card, RAM, or even power supply...is (are) not up to the level of detail and screen resoution you are asking of them, you can see white squares where, quite simply, your system was not able to fill in all the pixels for you..... engine startups from an external view, heavy AA fire, other aircraft in view, etc. all draw on your video rendering ability more heavily than, say, cruising over the English countryside at 3,000 feet...... If you have a fairly stout computer that should be performing 3d rendering adequately.... you might look at small things like fans and heatsinks clogged with dust and lint causing overheating, ecspecially in your power supply, graphics card and CPU.....or possibly you might want to update the drivers for your video card..... add more RAM, or upgrade your CPU, or upgrade the graphics card....etc, etc..... I find that 95% of the time when I have any anomalies or graphics distortion......it is hardware or video card driver related.... very rarely do I find the software in the Simulator to be missing files or coded improperly.... (the 5% exception is always in my heavily moddified installations, not in the stock programs). Sometimes just a good dusting or updating your graphics card driver can make a huge difference...

Hope that helps a little

I had small white squares (smaller than an icon) all across the screen, sometime amounting to half the area ! It was an hardware problem, getting rid of all the dust in the vid card cooler did the trick.
