Guys,

Will any of you fine painters be doing the P-51C "Impatient Virgin" owned by John Sessions? That one with "Old Crow" are just something. I love all the hard work you do on these paints. I hope one of you guys can do it. Also, I have been looking for "Bald Eagle", has that one been up loaded yet? my hanger look great with all your hard work. I really look forward to "Impatient Virgin:

Thanks Guys......

Ron

I guess it depends on which pack you bought...
Old Crow was included in the pack I bought... and I think Epsillon (?) did Bald Eagle... you can find it here on SOH.

I have the FS9 P-51 Fighter Leader pack. I would like to have "Impatient Virgin" added to the hanger. I have "Old Crow" as well.

Duckie,

Thank you very much!! Do you need some pictures?

Ron

Hi Ron,

I believe I have all the pics I need but if I hit a snag I'll give a shout. I have a couple other paints I'm working on that I want to complete before I move on to this one.

Some things to consider in the mean time...

First of all, my interests lie more in the direction of historical accuracy. for that reason, and I know it sounds snobbish, but I'm hesitant to do "air show" paints. So, not knowing which "Virgin" you meant, it needs some clarification.

Next some comparisons...

-- The "real" 2106638 didn't have the fin fillet as the "air show" Virgin does.

-- Also, the real 2106638 more than likely did not fly painted like the "air show" version - a full invasion stripe version didn't have the Malcolm hood. (See photo).

Although the air show version is a beautifully restored piece of history (as are most all air show aircraft), due to the above, I'm hesitant to do "air show" paints. So, I'm thinking more in line with the real 2106638 as she appears in the photograph below. But there's time to mull it over while I work on the projects on the drawing board for now.

Cheers,
Duckie

LDF, and Ron, there will be a new FS9 P-51B/C release featuring the dorsal fin fillet, and DF loops as seen in the China/Burma/India theater, in the future, just after the FSX release of the P-51B/C is made. Within this pack, is a full depiction of the restored "Impatient Virgin" as restored for John Sessions. Screenshots of all of the included schemes and model variations will be shown on the Warbirdsim website, once the release plans are put into place.

The reason behind the way it was restored, was so that it represented all of the various forms it came into during the war, and they are all fully reproduced in the flight-sim model and textures that will be released. By the end of the war, the airframe had been converted to sporting the required dorsal fin fillet, straight from North American Aviation, and a Malcolm hood, but had also changed names to Eva - and by that time no longer was sporting the invasion stripes. However, the aircraft is restored in the last configuration the aircraft was in when it crashed, but features overall markings the aircraft wore on D-Day, with the exception of the Eva artwork portrayed on the right side of the nose.

If you have yet to start on it LDF, I do already have the historical scheme finished as well for the birdcage configuration, and can upload after I package it together.

Jankees, as much as I wish I could answer that with certainty, I really can't. It could be just a few days, or it could be a few weeks, I have no firm idea. Once testing is finished completely, it will be released. ;)

John,

This is terrific news. Thanks very much for the update. The additional mods will fill the gap that make's it possible to do almost any version of the B/C except Photo Recon (AHEM! LOL!).

Thanks again,
Steve

Steve,

Thank you for the help. Both would be great... I enjoy the ones from the war as well as the restored versions. What ever is easy for you. I am a huge fan of the Malcolm hood as well as the bird cage. Just let me know what you decide.

John... also thank you for the update. i look forward to the releases..

Ron,

I think with the eminent release of the FSX version and the afore mentioned FS9 updates and additions, including texture sets for both versions of Impatient Virgin, we would be well advised to "standby" for futher developments. :kilroy:

Best,
Steve

Steve,

Know problem. I have the FS9 version. John had said a while back it was coming out. I know it just takes so much time for them to release these things. I will keep adding your great paints to the hanger and keep the fingers crossed that "Impatient Virgin" comes out soon.

Thank you very much for your help again Steve and John....

Ron, I just thought I would tell you that on Monday, I'll be uploading the repaint to the SOH library, and I'll make another posting as soon as I do. This weekend marks the last two days of the college term for me, so I am very busy finishing things up to be turned in, and studying for my finals scheduled on Sunday, so there is no chance of me being able to upload before then. I'll finally upload my Jack Roush Old Crow variation-repaint on Monday as well, which lacks invasion stripes, white walls, and it is very clean like the real thing.
