Warbirdsim P-51D-5-NA Little Friends II - canopy reflections

I was wonderiing if there are any reflections in the canopy as viewed from the virtual cockpit? I have got the Part II Restored package which is excellent but I can't see any reflections, even though I am assured that they do exist!

Many thanks

Dave

Dave,

For all of the Warbirdsim P-51D products, I didn't add any destinct interior canopy reflections, as I had heard some complaints in the past about other works, where the canopy reflections were too distracting,or too apparent, or not like how it really is when you are sitting inside the cockpit, etc. So I decided to follow in the footsteps of the superb WWII-era products from another particular producer, that I never saw any complaints/problem about their internal canopy glass. I still tried to make sure that you could see/feel as if there was glass. There is just the smallest, tiny hint of reflection, but there is a level of shine that you should see in the glass, from within, when the light shines on the glass directly (such as when you go inverted during mid-day, for instance). The internal effect is that you should still just barely see that there is glass there, but your views out of the aircraft shouldn't be obstructed at all by the glass itself.

I don't believe the interior glass changed at all between the Restored Part 2 product and the two different Little Friends products, so unfortunately, if you don't quite like the look of the internal canopy glass on the "Restored Part 2" product, it is no different with the latest products. My own preference, is that I don't really like the static-applied cockpit reflection, especially as when you open a canopy as big as the P-51D's, the canopy reflections can't change to reflect the different positions while the canopy opens/closes around you. I am also not a big fan of the internal cockpit glass which has a ton of environment map-produced shine, especially when it clouds your view out through the glass, but I added just a little bit/smallest amount. The primary effect, as I mentioned, is just a bit of shine, when the sun catches the glass.

Matt, it is Horizon's VFR Generation-X Vol.2 scenery (central England), with the "Treescapes" addon for this Volume, by Earth Simulations. I spend most of my flying over this section of the world, so at least for me it is critical scenery to have. ; )

Hi

Im usually very quick to moan about any lack of canopy or window effect but i have to say that you have certainly got it right in my view

This video could shed some light, the way you know it's a glass cockpit is when objects from inside the cockpit reflect on the glass....that would be the first symptom.
