• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

You will all see the progress bar above for the 2016 Charter Membership Drive, the annual fundraising for SOH.

If you have already donated, thank you! You are helping one of the friendliest flight sim communities on the web continue; advert–free, knowledgeable and with one of the largest freely downloadable libraries of FS/CFS add–ons anywhere on the web.

If you can't donate, there's no pressure.

If you can donate, please do so we can pay the bills the first week of February. All staff are unpaid volunteers, so the bills are for the inevitable running costs only – secure server hosting, software costs and the unavoidable hardware repair/replacement (just before last Christmas...) We need to raise a total of $13,000 US and there are more than 4,000 "active" members out of the 22,000-plus total membership. So far just a few hundred of the members have donated.

The minimum donation is $10 US.
