Weather Programs for V2.5+

I've used an old REX 2.0 and FSRealWX_Lite (mostly because I already had one from FSX days and the other because it was free) for some time now and neither are very impressive. I'd like to get a dependable Weather program that doesn't break the bank, if there is such a thing. I know about ASN and several people have told me they're very pleased with the results they get. Are there any others available (not going back to REX). Thanks!

For my two cents worth. I've used REX, OPUS and ASN fairly extensively over the last couple of years.

I've settled on ASN as my daily driver, mostly because I run it remote. I think all three have something to offer in the big picture and they are all about the same price.
Overall, a good weather engine is probably worth the investment, even if it's a stretch on a retirement income. I'm in the same boat.

As far as freeware...I don't have a lot of experience in that area.

Hope this helps with your final decision.

The only "problem" with ASN is it breaks every time P3d is updated. It's usually fixed in a day or two though.
That's the price you pay for active development & advanced behind-the-scenes techniques.

I used FX Real Weather lite for a long time, but switched to FS Global Real weather because it has a more complex weather engine and doesn't use METAR, which is much too coarse and inaccurate. Another feature is that the client is very undemanding regarding performance because the creation of the weather scenario is done in the server farm, from which the acummulated and already calculated datasets are transferred to the weather client.

Works well with P3D V2.4, I wouldn't think that this is different with v 2.5.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks to those who replied. I appreciate your feedback. I went with FSGlobal! I am running P3DV2.5 with the first Hotfix and had no problems installing or running.
