Weird problem with WOFF Scenery and ETO 1.50

Hi all,

Whenever I go to change seasons with WM's scenery manager, I get a strange effect on buildings and trees.

I have WOFF's scenery set up with ETO 1.50. I've attached a picture to show what I mean.

Maybe someone here knows how to set up WOFF scenery with ETO 1.50 and WM's scenery manager?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris, it looks like interaction between the scenery sheets. Does it do it in every season? WoFF has multiple sheets whereas cfs3 has only one which is scenerysheet01.dds.

Hi Clive,

it does that in every season except for summer and spring.

Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks,

Chris

Actually WOFF uses just one scenery sheet (at a time). You have an extra one floating around somewhere in your CFS3 directory. Find them all and delete them all and copy over the correct one from your WOFF install. (Note, WOFF uses a different sheet for each season, but only one can be located in your CFS3 directory at any given time.

I have no pc to check this at the moment :(. It may be worth doing a file search for 'scenerysheet' and seeing how many there are and comparing what they look like). Each sheet is made of multiple images which are used to apply textures to the autogen (LSO) models. I suspect that in some sheets where there are house textures others may have trees...
Just guessing I may be wrong though!

Hi,

Is it the scenerysheet.xml or scenerysheet.dds file I'm looking for?

Hopefully that should fix it. Depending on which file it is.

Thanks,

Chris

Also Gecko, how's your flight training coming along?

Update:

Hi,

It's a little better, but I still think there's another conflict within the assets folder somewhere.

But I'm not sure which file it could be. I've attached a picture to show what I mean.

The scenery settings is set for winter-full snow and I managed to configure it within the WMScenery Manager.

Just need to resolve that conflict and I should be good!

Regards,

Chris

You have a wrong ground texture in there somewhere, will be a matter of trawling through the dds textures in the assets folder (with that season selected) till you find s green one.

Could you provide a closer shot of the green areas? As Clive says it could be an incorrect texture, or it could be a missing winter scenery .mos file.

As for the scenery texture, "ScenerySheetWWI.dds" is the file you want to search for. Make sure there is only one anywhere in your CFS3 directory and that it's the right one for your desired season.

Flight training was finished this spring with the instrument and commercial tickets. Need to make some money before I add anything else. Currently working as a mechanic and acceptance testing pilot north of Seattle. Lovely area to start a flying career.

Hi,

Now, do I delete the ScenerySheetWWI or ScenerySheet08?

I think this picture is near RAF Alconbury, but it's showing the issue at hand

Thanks,

Chris

Best of luck, Gecko! I'm sure you'll be flying 777's before long!

Hmm, it seems like you're missing something, a .dds or a .mos but I honestly don't know. Not sure what scenerysheet08 is from, scenerysheetWWI is what textures your trees and buildings. Neither file is related to your current problem.

The best I can say is that you should carefully check to make sure you have all the files installed from the WOFF assets folder. It is also important to note that the WOFF scenery is not intended to be switched between the spring/summer and autumn/winter seasons in game. Textures for both are active, but the scenery is set up to be specialized for a single season at a time.

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but it turns out that the root of my problems with this was a conflict between the ETO airfield mos files and the WWIAirfiels mos files. So, my suggestion to anyone who's having this problem is to delete the WWIAirfields folders in all of the WOFF season's folders

I'm using JSGME to switch out the textures. I had to reinstall ETO a few days ago and I gave up on WM's scenery manager
