SOH-CM-2025
I had been planning on upgrading to PD3 V2 for some time. I have just built a new computer based on the new X99 chipset. So, I purchased a Developer's version of PD3 2.4 and installed it on a SSD. I also purchased the new UT-USA V2, REX Essentials/Textures, and ORBX Global. I don't know how much overlap on textures I have but the end result is wonderful. So far I have only flown the T-6, Extra 300 and the Milviz T-38A in PD3. I flew once with the Louisiana MegaScenery and then without it, using the textures developed by the addons, listed above. They both looked better than in FSX.

With the frames set for 30 fps, it is solid, no shutters or hiccups. I love the visuals. They seem brighter than the same scene (MegaScenery Earth) in FSX. This was true for both photo scenery and the autogen. I have the sliders at default except for the autogen and density. They are bumped up one notch to dense.

I have left FSX on because I am doing some work with the Virtual Flight Academy and they still use FSX for the training flights. However, for now on it will be PD3.

I think I am going to like this new sim.

Welcome :D
I would recommend you to let FSX installed for a little while. Sometimes, its presence makes it easier to install some addons (without using that Estonian migration tool).
P3D behaves much better than FSX when it comes to ground textures, but be aware that in very dense areas with complex sceneries (major cities, major airports), the impact on the FPS will be greater in P3D than it was in FSX.
There are also a few additional issues. Some FSX problems are gone, some new problems/bugs appeared.
However, since P3D is still under development/maintenance, we can at least hope these problems will eventually get solved.
