According to comments in the first link, that software team practically re-wrote half of the MSFS application to get the stuff to work, and then only when used in their targets stuff only and not the rest of the MSFS world.
 
Hey, for me at least, I will be happy with whatever effects they create. DCS is too complicated for me. I have had the sim since its release, and even bought several add-ons, i.e. Tom Cat, Super Carrier, Super Hornet, Huey, etc... but even the controls.assignments for that sim is a daunting task, if I go to assign bindings for anything other than the normal axis settings. I have never done any combat flying in DCS because I don't know how.
