A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: Welcome to the Western Desert, 1942 campaign package! This is a series of fifty-five missions in three separate campaigns that center around the experiences of Western Desert forces in Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt during the Winter and Spring of 1942, with the German campaign extending through their initial retreat from El Alamein. All of the missions are historically plausible, and are based on events that happened during that time period.

This campaign is a complete overhaul of a much older Groundcrew version, originally created by Cliff Burgess. The scenery has been thoroughly modified & updated to utilize the fantastic North African airfields created by Achim27619, as well as custom GSL port facilities at Alexandria, Tobruk, Derna, Benghazi, and Tripoli, along with various fortifications in the desert theatre; this includes the fortress at Bir Hacheim.

All the aircraft included in this package are the most modernized available. Additionally, some of the missions are now very dynamic, and all of the missions feature improved triggers and events, resulting in a much more enjoyable experience

In this first package, you'll find most of the aircraft, gauges, aircraft sounds, and weapons required for the campaign. Nearly all of the required aircraft have been included, as well as any historical repaints that would have been used during/near the time that Western Desert forces and the Axis forces were fighting their seesaw battles across North Africa. Those whose work has been included in this first package include Aeroplane Heaven, The B24 Guy, Mission, Graham, (VB planes) Bruce Thorson, Oldwheat, Pcmeneg, the Groundcrew team, Krystof Malinowski, the FDGv2 team, Brunosk, the Sky Unlimited team, Isoliti4gatti, Piglet, Bismarck13, Captain Kurt, Paul Rebuffat, Thicko, Morton, Oglivie, Wolfi, the Donationware team, Lawdog2360, Ajax, Serge Tremblay, Buddha13, RobH, Obio, the Virtual Wings team, Sopwith Chameleon, the DoAv2 team, Rockster, MoparMike, & the Alphasim freeware team, Kelticheart, Gius, Dbolr, and Blackbird686.

All of the aircraft in this package have been modified, when necessary, to include the appropriate repaints, when possible, for the aircraft. I've also included modified .dp files for each aircraft which correct information in the [MISC.DATA] section that I found to be in error. To lessen issues with frame rates with many waves of aircraft in the sky, all exhaust effects have been removed, if they were included in the original models.

Additionally, all weapons required for the aircraft have been included.

Good morning,

I hope you all enjoy this one, it's one of my favorites. Unfortunately, this marks a short respite between any additional packages; I am taking an additional Massachusetts teacher certification test on 30 October, 2015 to enhance my classroom skills, and have been studying diligently to make sure I pass it. It costs $155 dollars whether I do or not, and I won't find out the results until mid-December.

The test is on geography, teacher pedagogy, early world history, modern world history, economics, considering religion in history, English and American literature, sentence structure, rhetoric, and semantics.

Four hours, one hundred multiple-choice questions, two essays, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Sounds like fun, huh? :dizzy:

Good Luck

Hi Andrew

Thanks for your work on this.:applause::applause:

I have started to put some of your campaigns on my CFS2 MED setup.

I wish you all the best for your exam.

Cheers,

Stuart

PS I hope you get a payrise when you pass!

I have already installed all your Western Desert some time ago and it seems to be working. I am going to leave well enough alone unless you have added something more.
Best luck on your tests. I am not sure my old brain could function that long on those many questions. :biggrin-new:

Hi Rami. Just installing your superb Western Desert campaign and all's well with the exception of two items I'm missing. They are: tb_build1 and tb_build2. I went back and re-read the installations instructions but I couldn't find them mentioned. What scenery package are they in? Thanks for the great missions and campaigns, I'm having a ball flying them.

Good morning,

Since I am home with a stomach bug, I corrected the package this morning and included the objects for future downloaders, both here and at my box.net site. Thanks again to Stoney for letting me know.
