What a bummer

Both races at Texas motor Speedway rained out. I wonder how much longer the high dollars of TV and the corporate structure can continue to finance many more fiascoes likr tyhese rainy day Sundays. Abd what do they do about the Nationwide race. Ig Cuop runs tomorrow, does Nationwide run too? NASVAR beeds a rethink and rethink fast, there were no one at Martinsville two weeks ago when I went on Mondat, surely no one will be in the stands for tomorrow reset event.

'Snuff folks, honestly, just how much longer can you blokes handle the idiots at FOX, I mean they were on the air 5 hours yesterday and at least as much today.

The only thing I have seen more boring this weekend was the 20-inning fiasco between the Mets and the Cardinals last night. Jesus, Tony has the bases loaded in the bottom of the 14th and he sends the pitcher to bat with 2 outs. I sometimes question his rationale. Mets and Cards scored 1 each in the 19th and the Mets won it 2-1 in the 20th. It was a baseball joke. Both teams ran out of pitchers, the hitters were so bad, they could not even hit the outfielders and infielders they put in. The pitched around Pujols at least 6 times. Worse baseball game I gave seem in a long time, even error-filled high scoring little league and girl's softball is better action than I saw in that game yesterday. Must have been something bad in the Mississippi River water that day. Everything about that game was lackluster and your humble St. Louie Cardinal fan was too. Baseball shouldn't be played like this.

I working on how I can get out of work on Monday and make a fast tripdown to Ft. Worth to see the Sprint Cup and Nationwide races at TMS. Sprint starts at 11 am and Nationwide at 4 pm after the big boys are done. Tickets should be dirt cheap for some great seats. I'm trying to convince TXNETCOP that I'll pick him up......:jump: If it was at Kansas Speedway I'd be there in a heartbeat since it's so close.

i was supposed to go to the Nationwide race on saturday but one quick glance at the noaa weather for dallas made my mind up not to go.

i think my buddy went, 3hrs to dallas, sat in the rain for a couple hours and then drove 3hrs back...not exactly my definition of a fun way to spend a saturday:icon_eek:

NASCAR and precipitation clash once again.
Maybe the number of 'Oval' events should be cut 50%.
How about 'Wets' and 'Road' circuits??
That would sort the roundy-roundy only weenies out bigtime.
:jump:

Hey All,

Rain happens! 43 cars on rain tires on a 1.5 mile oval? Even with a blinky binky red light on the back it would be insane. We certainly don't want a lot of who can outbrake who into a corner one on one single file racing races - where the best chassis engine combo always wins - talk about dull - sounds like F1! As for roundy roundy weenies well after 3+ years maybe one open wheeler can learn to turn left and actually win a race on an oval - I certainly hope a driver with Juan Pablo's esteemed racing history should be capable of winning one race on an oval in his career but we'll see.

Ed ...... no, if you READ my suggestion it is to CUT the roundy roundy races back and run MORE road course events, on wet rubber if it rains.

i would love to see more nascar road courses and i seem to recall the cars being set up for windshield wipers and rain tires at one time (for road courses)....but it never rained...

Hey All,

I'd like to see those two tracks back as well. :applause:

As for road courses and NASCAR - I think the essence of NASCAR is turning left. I think it always has been always will be. If you want a predominance of road courses then lets just call it Grand AM or something. That said I think a couple more road races a year would be good maybe even as many as 6 (of 36) but no more as then I think your tryin to turn NASCAR into something it just isn't. The variety in oval tracks is a lot as is but I do agree there are a few too many cookie cutter 1.5 mile racetracks in NASCAR. Bringing back the Rock and N Wilkesboro would be heck of a good start.

BTW Ed, you appear to have mistaken me for an 'F1 Fan'......which I'm not!

I watch it (along with most other Motorsport) to keep up to speed, one can't be a critic of something without staying in touch.
