What causes this crash again?

I picked up a little problem and can't remember what probably causes it. About half the time after running the game several minutes the screen blinks once and the sound is gone. I can keep flying a few seconds then the ..has encountered a problem.. box comes up and it's time to take a break. I'm thinking a gauge.

I have this problem too, with the Alphasim/Virtavia Phantom Pack3.I would be interested knowing the problem as well.

Not sure if this is THE fix, but in the past I've had a similar problem - there is a fix that can be placed in the sim's config file, has to do with FSSound.dll. I've been told to put left and right brackets on that, then put it in the config file at the bottom under the heading "OLD MODULES," then save the config file (suggest you make a backup of the config file first, of course). When I've done that I've had success w/sound-related problems.

There's a related problem with a gauges dll that might be to blame, also.

I'm leaning towards a gauge problem for two reasons. One, I've been tweaking some POSKY liners flying dynamics and have been loading those as saved flights rather than a default AC. I know, I know, I should always start with a default but I do think most addon AC are just as good. Second, some of the liners on start up I get the ..sound file lib error.. which I know is related to a panel.cfg edit. I'm replacing those panels with default ones to see what happens. But I will also try that config file change too.
