What CFS2 Aircraft really shine in FS2004?.. What can you recommend?

Seems looking through the archives page by page is a tedious task. I don't have a clue which CFS2 birds shine in FS9.

Any suggestions fellas? :)

The aircraft from Thicko (Search the SOH archive) do pretty well 'out of the box' in Fs9, as does BrunoSK's Mosquito. I recently did a thread about some Japanese aircraft that aren't bad in Fs9 either. Hago (http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/hago/index.htm) has done some great aircraft models for CFS2, but unfortunately the flight model leaves a lot to be desired in Fs9. I think Fliger747 and Henry did a few FM updates though.

K. Malinowski has a good selection of CFS2 aircraft that are great in FS9. Look in the archives for Farmboy....and you will find the P-40s (which have been updated to FS9 in terms of flight dynamics) and P-47s. Then head over to Simviation.com and do a search for Malinowski and you will find the P-47s, a nice selection of paints for them, the B-24 D and J and PB4Y-1 and -2 variants of the Liberator, and a nice range of JU-88s. One of the downloads for 88s (the A-14 I think) is corrupt. I have it and can zip it and send it to you if you want. Malinowsi also has some nice Japanese fighters over on Simviation as well.

Also on Simviation are some nice Polish planes by Elias Korompilis. I think they are also in the archives here but can't remember the user name...some are redone for FS9.

Sakichi System has a nice Blohm und Voss BV-141 on Simviation.

Wolfi's Helldiver, P-26, and Nell are well worth adding to your FS9 collection.

Thicko has a superb collection of aircraft here in the library that work in well FS9.

Akemi has a nice selection of WW2 aircraft.
http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/hago/hangar1.htm His 190s are the best I have seen!

Paul Rebuffat has a wonderful selection of Spitfires and 109s. http://www.myzone59.com/rebuffat/accueil.php

Bismarck13/William Dickens has some nice CFS2 aircraft that are a joy to fly in FS9...and since he does his testing in FS9, they need little tweaking for use in the sim. Look in the archives section here under Bismarck13 and on Simviation.com under William Dickens. Lots of interesting and unique aircraft.

For a nice selection of Lockheed Hudsons, look here: http://www.virtualwings.org/hudson/r.htm These Hudsons are amazing, and with flight dynamics that are superb!

Keep in mind that CFS2 aircraft tend to have a nose heavy tendency in FS9, that they will need lights and effects added and the aircraft config will need to be modified to properly show up in the aircraft selection window. But with a little work hither and yon, bringing CFS2 aircraft into FS2002/2004 is a nice way to flesh out your hangar with WW2 warbirds and bombers.

Oh, look under BSK/BrunoSK for a few very nice planes...his Mossie is to die for (someone did an update to FS9 in terms of flight dynamics) as is his Martin 167.

Ferry_VO, thank you. Any direction to go is what I need. There are SO MANY aircraft to choose in CFS2.

OBIO, no offense meant. Your brain flows like a dang broken water pipe with information!!!
...and I like it!! :)

Thanks for the leads guys

You will certainly laugh at me, but back in my FS9 days, some of the planes I was flying the most were.... the default CFS2 planes !
I just loved them. I loved them so much. I just can't explain, in FS9, they were simply great...

Yasuhiko Sasaki has some very nice Japanese aircraft at his North-Northeast Aircraft Factory
http://yashico.cool.ne.jp/index.html

A password is necessary to open the zip files and these can be obtained simply by e-mailing Mr. Sasaki and asking for them. The turn around time is very fast and worth the effort. The Japanese Navy planes work well but some of the Army planes did not work for me.

The Aichi B7A2 Ryusei is especially well done.

Thanks for the link Hurricane61.

I will, at a minimum download the one shown. I had to translate the pages in Google to read it. I just can't forget to send an email to Yasuhiko Sasaki

All these models.....wow!!!

OBIO, it appears that all the "Farmboy" links in the archives, unfortunately, are not active any more.

Thanks everyone!! :jump:

One more tip: look for Morton's repaints and Lawdogs' sounds in the archive.

:)

Thanks again Ferry. It's always nice to have the other good bits.

I'm going to have a chore figuring out the aircraft.cfgs to get them balanced. I wondered why Wolfies Stuka was out of balance. Now I know. Something else I'll need some tutoring on.

I'll second the defaults working good in FS9. Also B24 Guy's conversions of the default AI SBD and TBM work great as well.

Daube, those old CFS2 ships looked prettty good in those shots. Have you modded them at all?

Thanks all :ernae:

I have the The B-24 Guy's overhauled CFS2 planes in FS9. Have the config files tweaked for proper listing and display in the aircraft selection window...and I have them shined a bit as well. Let me did them out of the archive hangar, look them over and I will get them uploaded to the FS9 section "soon."

Oh, one thing about the Yashico planes...when you e-mail for the passwords to unzip the planes, if you use a free e-mail account, like Yahoo or Gmail, they get sent to his spam box and he will not open them.

The Ki-61 Hien by Akemi, textures and prop by Morton, sounds by Lawdog2360 and airfile mods by Henry or Fliger747; my favourite CFS2->Fs9 mod:

BrunoSK's Maryland with airfile by Fliger747:

Farman 223.4 by Alain Breton and Hispano-Suiza sounds by Lawdog2360:

Quite an interesting and rare aircraft, and actually the first allied bomber to drop bombs on Berlin.

Believe it or not Ferry, I tried getting every one. there were either dead links (except for Brunos Maryland which I got from here) the Farman 223.4 by Alain Breton (I did not know of), and the rest I had no idea which to download due to several links or updates listed.

...I like the looks of the Ki-61 Hien by Akemi

Hi,

KI-61 material (prop-repaints and modified air file) send by PM !

Thanks Claudius, I downloaded the ki-61 hien, ko and otsu form Akemi's home site last night. I don't know if they are the correct ones though.

try here too, look in 'garage corner' for some really nice Bf110 'unfinished beta's'
