Could someone please point me to where this is explained or briefly tell me the purpose? Thanks much.

The bdp is a memory file created from the last configuration of a weapon, vehicle aircraft etc. When you make a change to an aircraft, vehicle or weapon XDP or change effects they may not show up unless you remove the old BDP and allow a new one to generate when the game restarts.

The BDP zapper will auto clear all of the old bdps and allow new ones to generate instead of you having to go in to every folder and manually delete them.

In the eto readme folder you will find a brief explanation on what the BDP and Zx zappers do. There are many readme documents which the team has put together to explain the opration, maintenance and installation of the eto.

CFS3 ETO EXPANSION BDP AND ZX ZAPPER PROGRAMS

The autoinstaller will install the BDP Zapper and ZX Zapper programs to your CFS3 ETO Expanson.
The BDP Zapper will delete the *.bdp files in your aircraft, objects, vehicles, and weapons folders.
The ZX Zapper will delete the *.zx files in your Terrains and Terrains2 folders.

Thank you both for the explanation. I did try to understand the info in the original readme's for ETO but admit I did not clearly understand. The combo reply from you both helps alot. Reason...I do not want to screw up this excellent expansion and i see forum notes where others have 'done something wrong' and not have a big problem. Thanks again for you help on this question and for your work on this great ETO add-on.
