Hi all...I have a question that will get many opinions..i would love to have them all..

I am hunting all the best addons for FS9...Not Planes though..Scenery only type things for looks...

I have now
FSGenesis Mesh
GE2006
Ultimate Terrain
Ultimate Traffic
All Mega Sceneries (not yet installed back)

Its beautiful as far as the engine will allow...BUT...What else is avaible for FSX to make it prettier?????LOL

Thanks...

Oh..Can anyone tell me what the US price for *Beech and Marthars Vinyard * from aerosoft is..I don't know the conversion....Thanks

The Beech 18 from Aerosoft is certainly nice - the Spantax one is the one which was parked for years on the edge of Malaga Airport, and appears in the Aerosoft Malaga scenery, too - but I find it a bit frame hungry, and there's a very nice freeware Beech 18 available from Milton Shupe. There's freeware Cape Cod scenery available at the usual places, too.

If you like adding scenery, and enjoy small field flying, look for stuff by Leon Louis, whose fields have picnic areas with smoke rising from barbecues, fireworks at night (summer only) etc.

Any scenry with the name of Holger Sandman or by FsAddon. Lets not forget the USCG package over at aerosoft, comes with cutter scenery.

I must say that Leon was a master...I truely miss his work.....

Hmm The Cutter scenery...Must have a look..

I forgot to add that I have Misty and will be getting Tongas too....

Who was the author that put out the freeware that had Skagway in it ? I truely forget.....

I am back to FS9 after a few years off,and I have just plain forgotten where and what all the great things I had....

Again...Thanks for the tips...

Dump GE2006 and get GE Pro, much better.

Do not install any MegaScenery, they clog up your HD and take forever and a day to load in FS9. They are also not all that good IMHO! Speaking subjectively after trying out two MegaScenery products.

Cutter scenery? Are we thinking here of Cutter's Goose with its scenery and flights? If so, then that is another freebie, not aerosoft. Or do we mean a Coastguard Cutter?

Oh, and another thing - look for Golden Hawaii to give you a switchable golden age Hawaii with a/c and flights, or even the full Golden Wings.

Hi Cazzie..I had GEPro and dumped it for GE2006..All I wanted was better groung textures..The GE2006 provided that...

The GEPro was just to unfriendly to me with AS6 and all.. It just became more than I felt like dealing with..The support for these older addons was slow to come too...But they were all there trying...

I have not installed any of my Megsa yet, they do not load on this rig very slow(tried a california one ) but took it off to add other optioons like GE 2006 and U Terrain ......

I forgot about Glacier Bay..What a great one that is ...I must get that back...

Thanks for all your info..Much appreciated ...:applause:

Well, both of my favorite sceneries are no longer for sale... definitely too bad.
If it were possible for you to get them, I would recommend Emma Field and Orcas Island.
Even without those jewels, though, you can still get some freaking amazing scenery. My other favorites are the Freight Dogs scenery package with its six beautiful strips and the RAS Scout scenery - the work of the incomparable Womack and Sandmann.

I'm not sure about the availability of Emma Field, but the Leon Louis airfields are very much in the same vein.

emma field is here,

says FS2002, does it work in 9, or was there a newer version?

works in fs9, iirc there's an option as to which sim version its' installed in.

Depends on your preference and which area of the world you want to explore the most,Canada, I'd go for the Canuk sceneries while for Australia you can't beat VOZ, and in New Zealand, anything by Robin Corn is recommended.

For USA, you want photo-real scenery ?,Gottfried Razek's 'Bluesky scenery' packs are
free. For 'atmosphere' anything by Richard Goldstein

There's some nice places to visit in Japan (see the thread from last week),
Avsim.ru hosts' some nice scenery for Russia and eastern europe,
as does flightsim.cz (Jesenicko for example)

If you want to venture to Switzerland, there's a nice freeware rendition of Zurich Airport, and Daniel Gaulthier has almost single handedly covered the
best of the rest of the airports.

In Finland, search out the sceneries by the Fi.S.D group (at fsnordic.net),
and in France Vauchez' (of Flightzone scenery) St.Malo is free

and finally, for the UK, Gary Summons UK2000 scenery isn't at all bad,
you can download and install the demo packs to see what youre going to get, for free, and the demo banners aren't too intrusive and not on every
airfield either.

Not sure where the Beech 18 tangent came in here, but it'll be hard to beat Milton's Twin Beech. It's freeware, but beats a lot of payware aircraft in quality. It's that good.

also look into the georender sceneries available around . they are phenomenal .

i don't have them yet but have only heard/read good things about misty fjords and tongas fjords by FSaddon
http://secure.simmarket.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=fjord

and for something a bit different outside the US , lukla and helgoland are two fantastic scenes by aerosoft
