Is used to sharpen objects that are off in the distance ..???

Thanks........:ernae:

I think a couple of things. Put anisotropic to 16, this is important. And I believe also mipmaps in hardware in the sim further up.

Obviously backup FS9,cfg first...

[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000
TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=0.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=200.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20
TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8
TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5
TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1
TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=4.000000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.000000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4

Thats a nice config Wing_z...Thanks for that...i may tweak it a tad just to play some, but so far it has done what I was looking to do...:ernae:

Hmmm, I looked for a config section within the FS9 Config folder and saw nothing like this listed. Can you guys please tell me where this lil' tweak should go?

May I point out that when I tried to tweak my FS9.cfg, I saw no change at all. Sometime later I learnt that the FS9.cfg I needed to tweak was NOT the one in the main FS9 folder, but the one situated (on my PC anyway) at: C/documents & settings/owner/application data/microsoft/FS9.

When I tweaked that one, WOW, a world of difference. Not at all sure what the point of the FS9.cfg in the main FS9 folder is for, I deleted it and the sim still worked fine, I did put it back though, just in case:bump:

There should be only one FS9.cfg which normally lives here, for Windows XP:
"C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.CFG"
Every now and again some crazy install makes a new one in the main FS folder.
This ruins the performance, generally.
One more reason I NEVER run executables directly into my FS folder.
