What I Want For Christmas

I have one just like it I bought back in 1968 for 19.95. I believe this one, like mine, is a repo seeing it's in Shanghai, China. Tho mine has the black chin strap. When you get it Ickie, check to see if the head size is stamped on the inside rim. If it's not there then it definitely is a repo, but still nice to have.

If you can, find a real one that's in good shape. I know they're on EBay for bidding, tho prices can be high. Check in the EBay military section.
 
I had seen a documentary on helmets. That design was pretty amazing. You'll notice that the modern US soldiers helmet is slightly similar, and for good engineering reasons.


But...... If you get that, then you have to get a proper MP-40.... and the canteen.. and 3 pack clip holder.. and.. and....
 
Mud, I was told mine is a M40. Not sure but I think the one Ickie is looking at is also an M40. If not that, then they are M35s. It's hard to tell from a picture.

Bill, 2 years ago at MAAM's WWII Weekend I bought an MP-40 BB gun which was an exact match to the real thing. I wish I'd kept it, but a guy wanted it so bad he paid me double the price I paid for it. It was full auto only, no single shot. So I figured I'd end up spending more in BBs in one afternoon than what it was worth so I sold it.
 
Ickie must be looking for a helmet to wear when he's riding on his Russian BMW knock off. He'll have everyone thinking the Wehrmact has come to Florida. :d

Not a knock off.
Its a Ural, Russia legally bought the rights and equipment from Germany in 1939 for the M-71/72 and they have been built in Russia ever since than.

I always liked the German helmet. I know the one pictured is a fake, but a new fake, lol, I was just wishing, I cannot afford it anyway.
 
Those German helmets, among other items, including weapons, were obtained from Germany in the '20's and '30's. So ChiCom has had the tooling forever.

I want a full blown combat sim instead. Something new and imporved and something NOT from UBI and ol what's his name ...:wavey:
