Calm down Guys

Please calm down - this is the beauty of this sim, it will do just ANYTHING. Next will be a Star War campaign, involving several star systems lol

Take it easy... It's a VTOL aircraft! I'M TESTING IT BEFORE UPLOAD...

HMMMMMMMM

Looks to me that the pilot is taking some FAA mandated ground time and taking some personal time on your flight deck facilities!

Very interesting aircraft. You have to wonder if the design flaws in the XC-142 could have been resolved in less time than the 20 years or so that it took to get the Osprey to operational status.

Hmmm...well, let's think about that: The 142's problems were all techno related - based on the limited VTOL science of the early 1960's. And then there were also the distractions of Vietnam. But by 1985, computer technology and VTOL advancements had accelerated to a stage were the vital concepts and inherent problems were nailed down for a fully operational platform. Aside from that fatal accident connected with the deadly vortex ring state phenomenon associated with all VTOL aircraft, V-22's battles from 1986 to 2005 were entirely budgetary and hence subject to the political climate of that period. It took a lot of political wrangling and price haggling to get this marvelously expensive machine to operational status. So, in reality, the comparison is like apples and oranges.

Was this aeroplane able to perform it's STOL characteristics on the carrier deck ???? or did it topple over the edge ??:wavey:

It's able to land and take off but is still far from ready. I dislike some flying aspects like the side forces envelope.

I'm close to MCAS Cherry Point - see Ospreys pretty frequently. They have a distinctive "wop-wop" sound a lot like a UH-1.
