What Is This BIZZARRE Error Message?

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

After flying seven straight flights past days without problem in my FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 set in Windows 10 Professional operating system, last night during the eighth flight I got this weird FSX crash message seven minutes away from runway 01R of Aerosoft Oslo X 2.0 version 1.7 flying on freeware TDS 737-800SFP with authorized TDS livery. It happened when I decided to change window view to wing view to enjoy view of sunset.

What is this error message or is it just one time freak strange glitch that I should not worry about? I managed to restart the same flight from saved file and landed 7 minutes later without problem on runway 01R. I also had 2 successful flights later.

What is this?

This started with Windows 8 when there was a discrepancy between Nvidia graphics cards, Windows Direct X, and certain service packs. It is impossible to diagnose without knowing the particulars at the time of the "fault." Does FSX still work? Disconnect every external device you don't need to run FSX and see if it happens again? The steps for a diagnostic are pretty extreme:

to rule out the problem is caused by fsx:
1 uninstall the service packs
2 uninstall fsx
3 now run the licencing reset tool. (The correct way, in an administrator command prompt. Just double-clicking is not enough)
4 reboot
5 defragment the harddisk
6 reboot
7 install fsx, activate it, run it and start a flight. play for a minute, close fsx. Do Not install any addons
8 reboot
9 defragment the hardddisk
10 install the service packs.
11 play fsx for a minute, end flight, close fsx
12 reboot
13 defragment the harddisks

That is the way to install. if it then still does not work, the problem is with either: windows, directX not installed, or something with hardware or a driver. hardware/driver is hard to fix in a laptop. Also worth checking the drive wit scandisk. Goto 'my computer', right click the drive, select 'properties', select 'Extra' and click "scan this drive for errors".

A reinstall is your last resort. I had a few problems with FSX and was considering a reinstall, but some guys on another forum helped me out. Keep flying, and if this message starts to be very regular, start considering a reinstall. You said you did successful flights after that, so there is a good chance it was just a random computer hitch.

Okay thanks all

I did have 3 successful flights after that.

Wish I knew what caused the error message but I am guessing a bad livery texture.

Regards,

Aharon
