What is this in a Corsair cockpit?

Random question: What is the device in the upper-left corner of the attached pic (with the black coiled cable hanging from it)? In the Black Sheep Squadron TV show all of the Corsairs have two of them, one on each side of the windscreen in the cockpit.

I had a quick look at the two Corsair flight manuals that I have, but couldn't find anything. It does look like some sort of lamp to me.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I too am thinking that they are cockpit lights. I also couldn't find anything about them in any of the docs for the aircraft that I found on the internet.

They must have been a "real thing" though, as all of the aircraft in the show were real vintage aircraft from private owners and collectors.

They are cockpit auxiliary lights that can be dismounted like a flashlight, or tilted, swiveled and brightness adjusted. They help get rid of shadows and burned out bulbs in each instrument
