What ive been feeling..

This video is in no way shape or form an example of the full ability of this plane. U needed to test for responsiveness and reaction, and thats always best done in slow deliberate control.. I used a lot of stalls in this, the plane real or otherwise does not spin.
And I needed a prayer. This was my prayer. Please, give me some feedback. I do apolofize for the format. I'll never figure out that video editor. Just full screen it..
Pam

Perfect! The Northrop twin beastie is looking better all the time. It will be worth the wait. Great video too. My kind of prayer!

Great work, Pam. Also nice soundtrack, it contributes very well to the grace of this aircraft.
I think you're on the right track! Can't wait 'til its finished.

Cheers to you,
Mark

PS:
maybe it's only me, but the video appears quite dark on my system. Did you have the enb hdr/bloom tool active during capturing it? If so, maybe you might try to switch it off or reduce it's effect. Just a suggestion.

Thanks Mark, and thanks to Paul and Jankees too..
didnt use any light bloom . The darkness is caused by my lack of skill in using this video editor ( a very old copy of premiere pro ). I did try several variations with differences in brightness and contrast, but those resulted in a jerky film with pauses. I guess i decided that it was ok dark as the music itself was building up from a background chant into a full voice, and when the red No-walk zones flashed into visibility that kinda told me that maybe it wasnt such a bad thing to start dark..

Oh and yeah.. Two of the things thats always impressed me about this plane was its sheer stateliness and grace.. That was never planned. initially, i was building a fighter, but the plane has refused to be a pure fighter.. Instead, she's become something even i've never seen before ( and with upwards of thirty planes under my belt, ive seen a lot ). In combat, shes unusual. She'll climb really fast for a short time before stalling and rolling over, and with her weight she'll out dive almost anything except a free falling bomb, but in a turn, she's better than almost anything that was there.. Usually, after eight months of working on a plane, im sick of looking at it and just want it to go away. Not this one.. This one has spoiled me rotten.. She isnt the fastest ( the P-51H was ), nor is she a lot of things, but she's like my favorite chair. comfortable and fitting in all the right places.. I can take her up into the clouds and just cruise, or i can drop her into a tight canyon. She's totally at home in both places..

Gonna keep working on her. The video did point up one glaring mistake in the pitch which ive corrected tonight after confirming what i was seeing with Robert.. He saw it too.

That looks excellent! I usually don't care much for having music in plane videos either, but it this case it went well with what is on screen.

Thanks to all involved for putting so much dedication into this project. It certainly looks as though it has been worth it :salute:

Thanks Simkid, thanks Kiwi. We're working pretty hard on her. We dont have the ability to include something like Accusim in it, but we'll get it as close as we possibly can. I was happily surprised when Razbam agreed to do the weapons systems. U've started work on the manual, but that isnt saying much. i'm a horrible writer and have never done a manual in my life. So, its gonna take me a long time. Added to that is that the Actual pilots handbook is available online as a free download ( although i do not know if its truly free or a rip off since you can also buy it on amazon ). What i really want to do in the end, is simply include the real plots manual and say "here, have at". With everything this plane has in it, there simply isnt any room for inserting special little fsx only type commands or deviations, neither can we leave anything out excerpt maybe a working oxygen valve, or heater control.. No worries about flying civvie simkid. We're gonna do what we can to make the turret rotatable. It DID cause buffeting problems in flight, but in a pinch, it saved some lives.. The plane shot down five FW-190s in the year it was there, and one of those was when the widow got pounced. I dont think the widow needed to maneuver like a fly. it had that turret, which fired in a 360 x 180 degree arc. So, we'll do what we can for the military as well. No promises.. I'm not sure of the feasibility of it but we'll do our best..

That is a very impressive video Warchild. Just a personal opinion (very much so) but I've always like the fly-by view to be included when performing manoeuvers. :)

Interesting to see that you were performing those manoeuvers with the four underslung tanks (P-61B?). Full or empty? Have you done the same without - and if so do you notice any difference in the handling?

And I'm very curious to hear how the spoilers perform. I've read that they endowed the aircraft with quite odd characteristics in feedback to the pilot, but were very impressive in performance.

This is going to be one hot potato to fly. I can't wait. The Team has created something marvellous and unique!! :jump:

Thanks for the com0plement Pips.. Much apprrciated.. I'm afraid i didnt do any fly bys.. All the footage ( some 43 gigs of it ) was taken spur of the moment with fraps while i waqs flying from outside the plane.. Not even flight recorder was used..

The Cat C configuration has always been an issue in flight simulator. its only been recently that companies like Razbam and A2A have been able to create systems wherein the loss of weight from droppable objects is accounted for..I'm afraid our little team hasnt got anyone that can program to that level, so it wont ever really matter if you drop the tanks or not.. One of the reasons i didn drop them in the film though is that at this time, they arent droppable. Thats on the list of things to make happen, but at the moment, with so much remaining to be done inside the plane, the droppable objects arent high up on the priority list.

I was more than delighted when Razbam volunteered to do the weaponry. I'm afraid that i'm somewhat reluctant to ask them to do more as i know how busy they are with their own work.. U hope you will understand.
Thanks
Pam

Gramps, in the Corsairs we did for SOH D-ware FS9 had droppable tanks, which lost the weight, that was a while back! I believe we had some droppable 500# bombs as well.

yahh, the tanks will be droppable, but i dont know how to code in the script to make the plane lose the weight, and the first plane i remember seeing that accompished in was Razbams A-7.. it would be nice..
