I recently bought a new area of Megascenery Earth 2.0. The Central California region, to add to my already existing Southern California -- which I love.
Problem is, a crucial area in the mountains where I always fly, was apparently made from satellite images taken early in the morning. Because of this, half the area is black (in shadow) due to the very high peaks and deep canyons not jiving with the low angle of the sun. It's a north-south canyon. This is undesirable for obvious reasons; IE it looks horrible, and kills the immersion/experience. I don't fault MSE for this, they are literally making millions upon millions of square miles of photo scenery and there is pretty much no way for them to know every low level route through mountains that someone would want to fly. Still, I wish the satellite imagery was more in the middle of the day.
I was wondering if I could "clean up" these areas in a photo editor like Photoshop, using clean high noon satellite imagery. Problem is, I'm sure there is another program required to deal with BGLs. Any help would be great.
