What's the deal with the Russkie designers??

First let me honestly say that i am extremely appreciative of the work of guys like Kirill Konovalov on the IL-86 and the authors of the new IL-18. Simply fantastic planes with oooh-aaah VCs...but I can't figure them out. I sometimes wonder, why can't they be like flying any other plane? Maybe its because I am an idiot...but that's not news.

So here is the question: on many of these russian birds it seems that the throttle control and rudder work together, meaning upon fully open throttle, I bird has full port rudder also.

How do I de-couple this?

Thanks,
Sid

Silly .. but are you sure it's the rudder involved in the port exursion ?
Had you checked in external view if the rudder is really moving ?
Maybe it's simply the couple forces of the props ?
So you can counteract by giving starboard rudder or (not realistic) disable the realism in the FS2004 options for realism.
Additional note:
It can be also the repartition of weight.
It can be also the position of the engine(s) (some designers use this trick for give a couple effect)

Thanks Claudius, i did check and the rudder pedals move with increase/decrease of throttle. This cause the aircraft to turn and so makes it unflyable. i know that there is a trick somewhere, and i was hoping someone might know this. Russian designers do put some differenfes in controlling their planes...like the project tupolev forlks...but i love their aircraft.

Sid,
Not sure if this answers your question, but some of the more complex Russian freeware planes (PT Tu-154, Krill's Il-86, etc) have a joystick utility that must be configured for full control functionality. The joystick utility for these planes is available from the 2D panel menus. If it's not configured, and the joystick is not disabled, you'll get some strange behaviour like you mentioned.

The manual that comes with the Project Tupolev Tu-154 contains a few pages on how to configure the joystick utility. I believe most of the Russian designers use the same basic one. Good luck.
