Back again to FS9 after some downtime with FSX and dropping that for now..

I was wondering what do you think the best config tweak is for FS9 and what does it do....

Is there a LOD tweak for distance sharpness???

Can the brake message be turned off?

Any one know how to set up two monitors with ATI CCCenter besides windowed mode for what Nvidia calles dual view? To allow guages to be dragged across to the other monitor! (in full screen mode)

If ya got a good tweak please share it ...

Thanks.....:ernae:

Hey Mason,

First..... Welcome back home brother! :d

Tons of neat little tricks.

I dont know about the ones you are asking about though.. so I'll leave that to the others.

Get rid of the banners...(You too Lionheart, for the movies!)
I did a revised file for that:
language.zip at flightsim.com
Two monitors...you nudge the gauge half off the main screen, close and re-open it, then it can be dragged aroound the second.
Holger's tips on terrain_radius will no doubt surface in the discussion later.
Welcome back to flight simulation!

Thanks Lionheart.....I have ben tweaking FS9 today after an early morning install ,and I have it about a beautiful as it can get....I do have one minor deal in 2D cockpit, while showing just the guages. Just above the guages for about an inch in height there is slight shimmering when pulling up or pushing down,,Ever so slight...I have set mipmaps to 4 and dropped ingame AA and its pretty sweet but for that one little annoyance......

GNZLAP...Thanks for the info......

and here is what I'm after....Holger's tips on terrain_radius will no doubt surface in the discussion later.

The VOZ lads posted a comprehensive FS9CFG tweak which used to be (before crash) on the SOH website. I have two files ( the long and the shorter versions) saved as .txt format ( so you won't have any hyperlinks but can cut/paste if you have access to the VOZ forums. Not sure if any of the links work tho')

You may need to reformat the pages to make them easier to read and I'd suggest printing them, highlighting the pertinent passages so you can follow along as you make your mods.
Does it help FS9? yes!

Good stuff there srgalahad....Thank you very much...I have them saved and soon to go thru them more carefully...Looks like just what I'm after too.....:applause::applause:

The red text on the bottom can (I believe - it's been a while) be hidden by adding HideInfoText=1 to the fs9.cfg's [MAIN] section. The other big tweak is to go to the [TERRAIN] section and change TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=19 to 21. The second won't change anything in a strictly stock install, but when you start adding high resolution mesh it will allow the higher detail to be displayed.

Thanks Tom....I remember the change from 19-21 now ..

I need to do that as soon as my new mesh is installed.....I remember that fron Misty Fjprds i had to do that...

But I will put the text edit in now,,,,:applause:
