To answer the original question:
Most of the time I fly campaigns/missions, either the ones available for download or testing my own.
When I have to fly an aircraft that is new to me in a mission, I go to freeflight to get used to it.
 
Tobob, does that tweak apply to all ships or just carriers?

I believe so, though sitting on a carrier it is most noticeable.

I want to state that none of this is my own. Just stuff I gleaned off threads(copy & paste)

here's a text file with some important findings about ship profiles, it could use a lot of refining and editing.

n.b that tip about pitch and roll for ships is just the ticket ;-)
